Did not stay but did eat the amazing brunch. Can’t wait to actually stay here. Relaxing. Peaceful. Calming. The brunch was delicious. Service was amazing. The salmon is yum! This is what Tucson and the west is about. Plus, the horses are so beautiful.

Our family had the opportunity to dine and dance at the Tanque Verde Ranch recently. This event was sponsored by Lifepoint Church through an anonymous donor. What a wonderful evening it was the food and service were superb. All the servers were excellent....the two I met were Bea & Jacqueline....who I am commending for their professional, friendly service.

UPDATE: Per the response to my review, I emailed the appropriate person to contact me about our issues. It has been two weeks, and nobody has reached out or responded to my email.Yesterday we attended the 2:30 Christmas buffet. Our party of 5 was extremely excited about this. This was the first time in many many years our family decided to not cook Christmas dinner, and go out instead. We are huge fans of the Tanque Verde Ranch as we had our wedding there just about 14 years ago, so this review is extremely sad to write. We waited in line for about 10 minutes to be seated, which isn't terrible, but in my opinion they should have had staggered reservation times so that everyone was not seated all at the same time. Most of the guests rushed to the food as if they were scavengers that haven't seen food in ages so it was overwhelming as everyone is started at the buffet at the same time. Due to the scavengers, after waiting in line in for the salads, and hot dishes in one area, I then went to the "cheese display" was more than picked over, and was not replenished for over a half hour, so I patiently waited for them to replenish. When they did the selection had less than good quality cheese, and meats. The tongs that were touched by many many people were not cleaned with food stuck on them, no crackers or bread near by it. The main dishes which were, ham, beef Wellington, and salmon were all tasteless, and dry. There was an area with meat to make sandwiches, I had the pulled pork which was one of the better things, but there was a garlic aioli out that looked like it was sitting out for hours on end. The risotto bar was a great concept but execution was not thought out. They had one person making risotto for the whole place. I waited 10 minutes for again less than mediocre outcome. There was zero flavor. Again as I waited all the other food selections were being depleted, and not being replenished in a timely fashion. No drinks were included, not even tea or lemonade. We ordered coffee to have with our dessert, it was the worst coffee I've ever had I couldn't even drink it. Luckily they didn't charge us for that. The desserts were ok as well. The menu stated homemade cakes which maybe one cake was homemade, the others were all premade somewhere else cakes. As you can tell by this review we will definitely not be going back, we paid $75 a person to be extremely disappointed. Almost $400 with tip, I feel completely ripped off.

We went on a hike nearby and then came just to borrow their bathrooms. As we drove in we saw a lot of activity in the horses arenas. We also saw an active falconry class ongoing, which was very interesting just to watch. There were flowers planted in large pots and interesting trees, including a huge sycamore and what looked like live oak. It made me want to come back and maybe take a horse riding lesson or just stay there overnight and try out the restaurant. This is more of a superficial evaluation just from coming mainly from the parking lot.Nearby activities: I visited in early January after a hike. The Saguaro National Park East is right there and it is replete with wonderful hiking trails. We mainly came to borrow the restrooms after a 7.5 mi hike. It was the first time I've been on the grounds. We didn't stay overnight but I was impressed with the outdoor features. There were lots of things going on there on a Saturday in January and I think you'll have a good time if you take advantage of what they offer. Just my opinion not having taken those opportunities yet.

As a family with a long-standing tradition of visiting Tanque Verde Ranch since 1984 almost every single year , it pains me to write this review. What used to be a yearly ritual, filled with excitement and fond memories, turned into a disheartening experience this year.We had to pause our visits due to Covid, but with children of my own now, I was thrilled to introduce them to a place that holds so many cherished memories. Unfortunately, our excitement was short-lived. Upon arrival for our two-day stay, we were informed that we could not participate in any activities nor could my kids join the children's program because we had not signed up for them ahead of time. Keep in mind this is half of our total stay.I revisited the emails from the ranch and found no clear instruction about this new policy, except for a note to inform them of our children's ages for staffing purposes."Please make sure if you are bringing children that we are aware of their ages by replying to this email with the correct info. This way, we can make sure our staff is readily prepared."Which we did let them know we were bringing two children.when we had inquired about any changes since our last visit three years ago, there was no mention of mandatory advance sign-ups for activities and the kids' club. This lack of communication led to a profound disappointment, especially for my children, who missed out on what I had hoped would be a great experience. In summary, what was intended to be a joyous start to the new year turned into a lesson in frustration and miscommunication where we simply turned around and left. While I understand the need for organizational changes, especially post-Covid, the lack of clear communication from Tanque Verde Ranch was a major oversight. It deeply impacted our experience and has left us reconsidering if we will return in the future.

Tanque Verde Ranch is an incredible place to host a wedding! As a wedding photographer, it's such a joy to take couples to photograph around the property - there are alot beautiful areas to choose from and the desert backdrop is so dreamy. If you're looking for a dreamy desert getaway type wedding - THIS IS IT!Lastly, the entire Tanque Verde Ranch team was incredible! My couple said they couldn't have DREAMED of a better place to have their wedding! 10/10 recommend!Food & drinks: The food was absolutely exceptional!!

Rooms are huge and clean. Front desk was always available. Speedway is one of my least favorite roads in Tucson.
