Love the Carne here and fajita chicken. Very good meat. Awesome place to get your meat for grilling out.

I was here a few days ago and bought a Mexican pastry ($1.29). It's also a good place to pick up things like tamales, pico de gallo, and other Mexican foods. There is a restaurant in the back, but I haven't tried it.

It is sad to see a supermarket with such great food have what appears to be a lot of incompetent employees (moreover, almost 0 speak English and it is very hard to communicate). I was standing at the register before a phone call was received. The woman took this very long phone order that pushed my order back 30 minutes; keep in mind I was standing at the register before the call. So oblivious... This place could easily be a 5 star market with some more effort and respect.

I have been coming here for the pan dulce as it's hard to find in Tucson. The store is clean, and typically busy with a kitchen in the back serving hot food . Over the past few years, they added seating and have upgraded the seating nearly to restaurant quality seating. However, the carnicenaria, the meats, good selection, however, the prices!! OMG this is Amphi area in South Tucson. The prices they charge for average Hispanic fare, is like they on the foothills, Oro Valley or something. It's flank steak...it's pollo asada, people. It's not exotic, don't price it like it is!

El Herradero Supermarket is the Mexican Whole Foods minus the price tag! It's filled with fresh produce, fresh green corn tamales, baked goods a cheese selection to be rivalled OMG ? The butcher station is so helpful! Elisa took time to assist me with finding the best tasting meat for my stew. I searched everywhere on my side of town for masa (not powered) and this was the one place that had it not frozen. You can find all your daily groceries at El Herradero as well as specialty needs. I almost forgot to mention that this seems to be a lunch stop for many also!. During my visit I noticed people dropping by around lunch hours and heading straight to the back. This was one of my mom's favorite places to shop I've been missing her a lot lately just being surrounded by the smells and my senses being awakened. Immediately brought me a sense of comfort for if for a moment. I will definitely be back I recommend El Herradero to anyone with grocery needs you may be pleasantly surprised.

A must go to everytime I'm back in town. I always pick up a six-pack or two of the tamales they have ready to go near the checkout (they also have cold ones if you need that, too). The burritos from the grill are also good. And I always grab a couple dozen of the fresh "Linda" brand flour tortillas on the way back to California. These are paper thin and only have 4 ingredients - flour, salt, shortening, water. Unlike the 20 some ingredients, sugar and preservatives in just about every other store bought ones you get (even my local Tortillarias have a ton of other ingredients, weird).

1) super clean 2) great prices 3) very nice staff. I was surprised how good the vegetable quality was. Meat looked great. Even a little restaurant tucked inside. A terrific little market.

The meat counter is excellent, plenty of choices of meat for making Mexican meals. Love the roasted chilies and fresh peppers of many choices and the same many choices of the dried chilies. The restaurant food is also excellent!❤️

Just one of my most favorite little mercados in T town. They have the best, freshly baked conchas & cochitos for only 99 cents each. The produce section is small, but mighty. They have all the necessary pre-packaged spices and dried goods like peppers & hibiscus and wraps for tamales. You can grab fresh tortillas and premade salsas & beans. Or, they have a whole hot food section and a few benches & tables for eating inside! They are always kind to our houseless neighbors & their pets- it feels more like an extension of someone's home than a commercial grocery store... which makes me happpppeeee :)

I was very impressed by this market. Many small markets are not very clean, don't have the freshest product but El Herradero is very clean, organized and has very fresh produce, bakery items and meat. The meat/seafood counter is always well stocked and with seafood they offer thawed and frozen options which big grocery stores rarely offer frozen. The boneless skinless chicken breast is always a great price and has almost no odor, unlike grocery stores where chicken often has a less than fresh odor. El Herradero chicken breast is very fresh and flavorful when cooked. Then there's the hot food counter. Everything I've had has been great and authentic and fair priced. ALL in all, this store is worth the stop.

This is the only meat market I buy my meat from to BBQ. Getting it prepared is all worth it. Tons of Mexican candy available in large quantities.

The menudo was awful it was greasy. The meat, hormy was ok but the liquid was so, so greasy. Not good for The human arteries if you stop to throw some of the liquid ,,, down the sink and when it gets cool ,,,it's clogs up the stink .Well the arteries are the same thing ...They need to clean that fat off the tripe..... Other than that it's a nice store... I will check out the cocio But get asmall bowl.. Not going to buy the big one any more ......no more
