very rude staff. they will over talk you and interrupt you to make their point -vs- hearing what the question you have is.

Very disappointing interaction today with this organization. Customer representatives (the two ladies) that worked the front desk were spot on this morning, and handled everything very professionally. When I arrived to retrieve the equipment (10 to 14 yard dump truck), it was noticed that the DOT inspection was expired in 2018, this was the only sticker I could find on the truck. I notified the individual that brought the truck to me about the DOT inspection being out of date, we proceeded to enter the front office again and inform them of the problem. This is when an individual that appeared to be in the maintenance department told the other employee to bring the truck to the back and he would take care of it. I told them that I would come back to get the truck because I had to get back to work. This maintenance individual proceeded to notify me that it was only going to take 5 minutes to fix the problem. 5 minutes to complete a Federal DOT Inspection. I informed him that I am a mechanic and have been doing DOT inspections for almost 40 years and that it would take at least an hour to conduct a proper inspection. I left and came back later on in the day, asked the front office and they informed me that the inspection was done. When looking over the vehicle it was noted that the paperwork was completed and I then proceeded to conduct the required pre-trip inspection 7 point brake test to find air blowing out of the brake pedal valve when the brakes were applied with my foot. Brakes are one of the required DOT inspection checks, and having someone in the maintenance department just pencil whip up a DOT inspection is unacceptable and putting peoples lives in danger. There is no way that this truck was properly inspected, because if it was this problem would have be noticed, and when I looked at the copy of the inspection in the cab, there was nothing checked as being a deficiency in the brakes section on the form. Very poor judgment on the person that just whipped up the inspection without looking at it at all. Having been trained on the proper inspection procedures of a DOT inspection, this maintenance individual needs to be re-trained and not be allowed to conduct inspections until proper training is completed. I take pride in everything that I do in the Maintenance Field, being a Master Certified Technician in the maintenance field has inspired me to always do my best in everything I do. It really makes me wonder if this is a common practice with this maintenance department or better yet the entire organization.
