Rented a midsized car for 5 days. Cost was over $600 and when I dropped it off had to find my own way home. They don't offer rides. Well before rented from enterprise for 7 days was $500 and a free ride home when dropped car off

PSA: AVIS BRANCH REMOVES SAFETY EQUIPMENT!This branch removes safety equipment from vehicles in order to force you to use road side, which can NOT be an option if you don't have cell service. After speaking to representatives it seems that they only care about your money not your safety.12hrs stuck on the side of the road.Still getting the run around. Managers gone on Mondays?Careful.

I literally filled it up with gas a mile from the drop off point. Got charged a fuel service charge without being notified. Said the fuel in reading was 9.1 gallons and the car only has a 9 gallon tank. Said I dropped it off with 8.4 gallons.

Be warned, if you make an advance booking online, they may not have a vehicle available for you. However, they will do absolutely everything they can to find one for you, hence the 4 star rating. They're trying their best right now in the pandemic, but the West coast and neighboring states arestruggling with having any cars in stock. We reserved an SUV for a cross-country move a month in advance. On the pick-up day, our booking said to pick up at noon, but that's when they close. We called two hours ahead to verify the reservation, but they said no cars were available for rental. We asked in person if they had anything the same size as an SUV and they said they didn't. After some pressing in-person, we were told maybe a mid-sized or full-sized sedan would be available during the day, but that would be too small to fit our belongings. After this, we came in around noon to wait around in person to hope for a car. They tried to offer us the one mid-sized sedan that showed up, but that wouldn't have worked. We then tried specifically asking for a van and miraculously they had that in stock, despite being told nothing of a similar size was in the lot that morning. It must've showed up unscheduled and last-minute, because we had to sign a waiver to rent it without a cleaning, just with "COVID-level sanitation work done". Despite this, we found half-eaten food in the back of the van... but that's what the waiver was for I guess. We were lucky this worked out, but there is a good chance that the lack of available vehicles would've screwed us over on our schedule and forced one of our party to miss a family funeral.WARNING: this is an independently-operated location, so if you book in advance online then they therefore cannot issue refunds. You have to call corporate directly to resolve any issues. If you book it in person and don't pre-pay, they will be able to help with any issues.

We were in Tucson and needed a car for a day. We rented a car online but when my wife went to pick it up, she was told they didn't have any cars, unless we were willing to take a dirty car.... Not that big of a deal, and we needed a car so she agreed. Then the manager asks for ID.. The standard practice has always been a credit card and a drivers license. He asks for a 3rd form of ID and she produces an insurance card and another form of ID, but he says that won't work because he needs two photo ID's. She left out of frustration and took an uber to Hertz where everything went much smoother and she was able to get a car with no issues. She did, however, call Avis Corp where she was told that the 2nd form of ID was up to the individual store. Julio De La Garza claims to be the manager of the store and claims he has no knowledge of the policy being left to discretion. To recap: Only dirty cars available. Uninformed manager that doesn't know their policy. Rude manager that needs further training and better people skills. I'm not sure this branch of Avis is aware, but the rental car business isn't doing very well right now and since our daughter just moved to the area, you've lost a customer that plans on being in Tucson 5-7 times a year... I know where I won't be renting a car for those trips.
