I purchased a top from Avenue online and after 10 days of not receiving any notifications, I sent them an email. They wrote back explaining they were unable to ship due to manufacturing. This is not a cheap shirt. It was over $150. I was told I would be getting a refund. Another week went by and I asked when I would be expecting a refund, and I got no response. Another week went by and I emailed again separately. I received a response that said I "should" have already received one. When I reached out AGAIN I sent screenshots of my account showing I hadn't received my refund, it has now been an entire month since my initial purchase and I haven't received a refund, or my item. And have only gotten incredibly poor communication. If I could give this shop no stars, I would. It wouldn't bother me so much if it wasn't so expensive. But $155 isn't a small amount of money.

I had a really lovely experience shopping with Avenue. I purchased a vintage knit tank and sweater set online, and they reached out to me to ask me if I still wanted it after they noticed a small stain on it. I requested that they try to remove the stain for me and they actually did it then sent it out to me. I don't think every shop would've been that attentive to detail let alone transparent about it AND also handled the mend, so I really felt taken care of and appreciated the top notch customer service. I'd shop here again.

I had a weird experience with Avenue Tucson. This is my favorite sort of small local boutique with unusual artisan made apparel and products for the home. I found a locally made shirt I loved, but they didn’t have the size I was looking for. The sales associate assured me that because the shirts were made locally, I could place the order and they’d reach out to me for sizing details a few days later. I paid $86 and then waited for the outreach. After waiting 2 weeks, I found their store contact info and proactively emailed them to ask. They responded within the hour to apologize that they weren’t actually able to get the shirt made in the fabric I’d requested. They gave me some other options and I picked one that was $119. They told me to place the order online and that my original pricing couldn’t be honored. Because I’d already paid $86, I requested a refund first before purchasing the other shirt. Then, after being super friendly and responsive throughout those exchanges, they suddenly went totally dark on me.

I am convinced that this shop is owned by a robot or a heartless sad sad being. I purchased a $400 jacket online via garmentory.com in October. The jacket arrived and it didn't fit. I returned it promptly and was told that they would be getting my size in January. I was hoping to have a winter coat in time for winter weather, which is why I made this purchase in October. It's now mid January and garmentory.com let me know that the boutique actually will not be getting this coat in and due to their "all sales final" policy I will not be receiving a refund. I've emailed the boutique directly (tried to call, but there is not number listed.) several times and nobody has responded to me. I happen to own a boutique and have the same policy. The difference between me and this shop owner is that I have empathy and compassion for people during this time of Covid-19. We all know how challenging this has been for everyone. I've been incredibly flexible with my customers during this time because I value their support and I want them to return. After all, they are the reason why we are in business. $400 is a lot of money to me. I needed a winter coat for winter. The fact that my money has been locked into this boutique for the past 3 months is unacceptable. To find out that the coat is actually not coming in and that I'm expected to use a store credit for something else is upsetting. Especially since this boutique only has 2 other coats available that are also not my size. I believe the ethical and human thing to do in this situation would be to refund my $400.00. Instead, my money will sit in the shops bank account and I will remain coatless. This boutique sources "ethical" goods, but what is the point of this if the owner doesn't even practice ethics in her own business? My guess is that this shop owner opened this boutique as a hobby and actually doesn't rely on customers to stay afloat. I do not feel valued as a customer and will never support this business again. Their selfish practice during one of the most difficult times in American history is more than atrocious.

The only reason the other reviewers have given this store a 5-star rating is that it is rare in Tucson to find a store that does not sell *total* rubbish. This is hardly a good basis upon which to give a good review, is it? If you look on Yelp, there are several reviewers who have rated this store 1 or 2 stars - for the same reasons I have - but Yelp doctors its reviews so that only certain ones are easily accessible. These tend to be positive ones.

I have been a customer at Avenue Boutique for several years and what keeps me going back is the amazing way this local store is run. The product assortment is exquisite and special and I do travel all over the US and have shopped in several comparable boutiques. I feel grateful to have been able to shop with the owner as she helps me add on to my wardrobe with items that fit well, while managing to my budget. She has her own designs which are unique and I have purchased a few of those as well. I have been able to put better outfits together and wear things in multiple ways I hadn't thought of on my own based on her advice. I highly recommend this boutique for its standard of service, great gifts, and apparel and accessories that I continuously get complimented on while on my travels. Thanks Avenue Boutique! You go above and beyond for your customers.

This is one of the loveliest storefronts in Tucson, and could definitely compete with contemporaries on either coast. Honestly, I can't afford to shop here very often but I window shop when that's not possible. It's a nice end to grocery shopping just a few doors down. The space is very inviting and inspiring whenever I do purchase anything, I wear it frequently and praise the designers and the store from which it was acquired when complimented or asked.

Guys! This place is a GEM. I don't know why it doesn't get more love, and I don't know why it isn't some sort of Tucson "Best Of." Avenue Boutique is far out of my price range (it is three Yelp dollar signs), but whenever I am back in town I treat myself to two or three pairs of earrings because they consistently astonish me in their selection, style, and quality. All of my jewelry basically is from here, and I get showered with compliments whenever I wear it in public (so really Avenue = daily compliments. It's great.) I currently live in Manhattan and I can say with total honesty that Avenue blows a lot of the cute little boutiques here we're famous for out of the water; plus, it gives me great joy to inform all of my complimenters that my earrings are from *gasp* Arizona! I catch my favorite bloggers wearing things from Avenue all the time, and when I find a particular brand I love from Avenue I'll hunt it down only to see that the cheapest place to get it is... Avenue. The owner is also lovely and consistently helpful. Sales associates here don't follow you around the store, which might be why other reviewers have called them aloof; if you need help though, they're delightful. At the very least, if the clothing isn't your style, the store itself is so beautiful and aesthetically pleasing -- worth walking through for that alone!
