From reading some of the reviews it sounds like they have friendly people in the office today my experience with them was with one of there truck drivers running me off the freeway and lying about what happened.

Great staff, they always take care of our drivers. The dock pick ups are fast and accurate. Shipment always in good condition. Very organized cross dock and office staff. Crystal always provides notification prior to delivery which is very helpful.

This was my first experience with freight drop off here at Old Dominion.At other companies drop off was accomplished within 10-15 minutes.My saga started with a locked remote operated electric gate, video surveillance, a keypad, and no instructions at all. I at first honked the horn, as some of these gates are sound activated, no response, then looking for a "call button", pushing it several times, and not getting any response for about 5 minutes. At which time I was looking for contact info on my phone to call someone when about 3-4 minutes later, the gate magically opened. I proceeded into the compound, an approximately 30+ acre area with several buildings and NO SIGNS, driving around for 8-10 minutes to find someplace that might be an office, or drop off station.These folks do NOT believe in signs! I finally settled on trying the largest office looking building, where there was a normal sized door. Of course it was locked, and had what I later discovered was a doorbell. I pushed it a few times and waited, tried it again a few minutes later, then once again before deciding to again try and call someone inside, when as I was starting to leave, a very pleasant lady arrived to ask what I wanted. She informed me that I needed the freight office around the side of the building near the rear, and indicated there was a sign with an arrow there at the corner. Indeed there was an approximately 8"×10" sign on this huge building, at the corner, indicating the freight office was to the rear. There was two locked, unmarked doors, and then the last one was the freight office!Upon entering, I noticed two gentlemen at desks, both on the phone, behind a glass partition, who proceeded to ignore me while they answered multiple calls. When someone came out to talk to one person, still on the phone, I asked HIM if I was in the proper place, I was told that I was, and would be taken care of soon. Soon turned out to be 17 minutes later! After taking my paperwork and disappearing for about 12 minutes, I was told to go to door #166 and wait for a forklift operator that had been dispatched to meet me there. I waited for 22 more minutes, and asked a random lift driver driving by to help me. He went off to find someone, and about 19 minutes later a forklift driver appeared to unload my pallet. I was happy at that point, but the driver preceeded to unload another truck that had just arrived after me. Finally, my pallet was unloaded, I WAS DONE!Not so fast, I then waited another 14 minutes for my paperwork!Finally, I left, approximately 2 hours later!We normally receive freight at my company by semi truck on a regular basis, and we have a forklift to unload it here. We are in a zoned commercial location, but Old Dominion, who delivers to us several times per year, would not pickup here! It seemed that houses were built across the street making this a residential location in their opinion.But it is OK to deliver here... just not pickup.It ended up costing me an extra seven dollars to DROP OFF my freight at their location, and over two and a half hours if my life!Estimated transit time for my freight was 3 business days from Avondale, AZ. to Huntinton Beach,CA. Aboutmiles away.To their credit, I finally unloaded my freight and left the terminal at 3:44 pm Thursday, and when I checked the tracking info the next day (Friday) at 2:00, I discovered that my freight had already been delivered at 12:32!The terminal may have been a cluster error, but the truck drivers were AWESOME!A few decent sized signs, and a bit of customer service could have gone a long way!Their rating would have been a FIVE STAR!
