Set in a spectacular desert scape, this building is generally unstaffed but employees are normally working in the area. Well worth sunrise and sunset viewing. The shadows at sunset cascade towards the water

Temple Bar is like the backdoor to Lake Mead. The almost 1 hour drive to get there from Las Vegas means it doesn't get the hordes of people that Las Vegas Bay and even Callville Bay see on any given weekend. You'll find a basic marina here, a general store that sells ice in cubes or blocks and has a small cafe inside, rental cabins, and a wide but still 2 lane boat ramp with plenty of parking close by. It's Ranger patrolled so nobody messes with your vehicle and trailer while you're out on the lake. In short this is the perfect place to access Lake Mead if you want to enjoy a bit more of the solitude it offers. Again it's off the beaten path, but well worth the time to get to it. (Note even though it's remote, they do have a fee station on the road coming in so yes, it's not free. But I don't mind paying the fee to help them out!)
