I have had wonderful experiences at the Y. It’s way better than going to the popular gyms. The staff is warm and inviting, friendly and very helpful and informative. The members have been great as well. I feel at home.

I previously worked here, the higher-ups were aware and openly admitted to favoritism towards one of the other workers. This favoritism resulted in other workers being scared to say anything about behaviors that made them uncomfortable, in fear of losing their jobs. Lifeguards only completed full scan ins and scan outs if a higher-ups was on the pool deck , they continuously messed up swim lesson schedules resulting in many upset members. There were also several times employees who were not actively certified as swim instructors continued to give lessons, being fully aware of their certification status.

Family, friendly, great sense of community. Great swimming instructors for kids, non-pretentious weight room, Great people. Staff is wonderful.

The YMCA is more than a gym. The staff and the members make it a meeting place. You see your work out mates and make new ones. I go to Healthy Back Yoga and lift weights. Others do chair yoga or take a step class. There is so much offered that it’s easy to stay active and fit while making new friends.

I adore the Tempe YMCA. The staff is what makes this place what it is. Not only is it a wonderful place to work out, it is a great place to socialize with staff and other members. I have never experienced a community quite like this. Everyone, from the child care workers to the branch manager is kind and outgoing towards guests. The front desk workers knew my name quickly and greeted me every time I came in.

I LOVE the Tempe Y. I have been coming here for years and will not stop unless I am no longer able or move away. They have the most AMAZING PEOPLE that work there AND they are doing SO MANY IMPORTANT things for our community!!! And their gym has everything (period). Thank you Tempe Y for enhancing the lives of SO MANY ?

The staff has always found ways to go above and beyond to help support several of the boys I've fostered. They are excellent role models and just great people in general. My boys had the opportunity with the summer camp program to be involved in project competition and presentation to the City of Chandler, attend weekly field trips that included visiting colleges, radio station, baseball games, skating, water park, museums, the movies, etc. The boys really enjoyed the game room, swimming, the workout room, and the gym. This is so much better than the kids sitting around being lazy all summer!

Supervisor was very combative with my friends and I when we were trying to play Basketball for Father's Day. He said that we had to be members if we wanted to use the facility. This is not true because you can play if you pay $15 at any Y. I feel he was discriminating against us and trying his hardest to push us to get a membership. I'm very unhappy the way he treated us. I hope the Y can give more training to these people in Management!
