WARNING: The hours listed for this business may be incorrect. If you plan to visit, call ahead to confirm they're open.
I drove about 50 minutes from home to get fresh produce at Singh Meadows, only to find it completely closed when I arrived. This was incredibly frustrating, as I had checked their online presence before making the trip. The hours listed on this Google page are inaccurate, and their Facebook and Instagram accounts didn't provide clear information. Other online listings I found were similarly unclear.
After calling, I learned that they don't currently have produce to sell as it's not in season for Phoenix. The employee suggested I should have known this, which felt condescending (though it might have been unintentional). They do offer compost, honey, and other items, which was mentioned in a friendlier tone.
As someone who isn't a farmer, I had no idea about the seasonal availability. I based my decision to visit solely on their publicly available information.
To Singh Meadows: Please update your hours across all platforms. Be more active on social media to communicate current offerings and availability. Consider that not all customers will be familiar with farming seasons.
To potential visitors: ALWAYS call before making the trip to avoid wasting time and fuel.
While writing this review takes more effort than I'd like, I feel it's important to share this experience. I'm sure others have encountered similar issues without speaking up.

**Please note Singh Meadows is not open to its full capacity as it used to be. The market, cafe, and barking bodega have not been open consistently or open at all for some period of time. Please keep this in mind before you plan to drive over. I’m trying to save you the trip***
If you decide to go over there, maybe call first to see what is open on that day :)
(The pictures I posted are from 2022 when we went semi-regularly).
That being said, I’m a big supporter of this place when operational, it is really awesome. We live within 5 minutes walking distance in the community right behind Singh Meadows off of Miller Rd.
This is a heads up to people that the only thing really going on at the farm at this time is being able to get soil/compost. The market and cafe have been closed, I’m not sure for how long. So, Google shows hours of 8am to 2pm as “open” and technically it is, but all of the great aspects of the farm aren’t happening…expect just getting soil/compost for your home garden.
I spoke to Mr. Singh today when I called to check on the status since I have friends who wanted to meet me there, and we had a good conversation on how things have been going at S.M. He said on their FB page they have updated people about the change in operations, but I don’t really use FB much so please note here that the main thing to do here at the moment is get composting for your garden.
The Singh family experienced a loss in the family which impacted the farms operations. Please be patient with the ownership to get things up and running again. This is a place that people want to come and enjoy, but it’s not running at its full capacity right now. This info is current as of 3/29/24.

I have purchased my compost over the past 15 years from Singh Farms. People ask me how I grow such big and productive tomatoes and basil.. I tell them it is my compost. The quality and energy Ken and his family put into their products is so special . Truly from the HEART. Thank you for your support of Mother Earth.

Amazing compost and soil for an amazing price! Why go all the way to the Worm Farm when this place is closer to us East Valley folks and the quality is great (dare I say better?) than that West Valley institution? Abel was so helpful and knowledgeable. I will definitely be back when I amend my garden bed again in the spring.

Man (owner) was rude. The grounds are closed. You wouldn't know until you show up to the gates. When I called, he gave me the response Google is 3 months behind. I asked him to update Google business page so we don't keep coming here while it is closed. He responded, don't lecture him on updating his own business page. I just wanted to help others so people wouldn't drive out here in vain. Super sad. I wanted to have a picnic and buy local honey. I wish my experience was better.Try Tempe Market Place if this happens to you.
