This place is hands down the best vet i've ever been to! From doctor Edwards to her staff, all the best! They treated and continue to treat my baby Nova the best! Went there to honestly have her put down but they were able to save her life :) So appreciative of them! I recommend this place 100%

After months of taking my dogs here I feel completely underwhelmed by the service I receive here. The vet is constantly overworked and the vet assistants can never seem to be fully present. There are times I walk in to pick up a medication for one of my pups and am greeted to cold silence instead of anything resembling a warm welcome. The straw that broke the camel’s back for me is when I brought in my pup to TALK to the vet about nail clipping anxiety related to trauma from other groomers. Instead of talking to a vet they took my pup to the back and traumatically clipped her nails making her bleed and further traumatizing her. When the assistant originally motioned to bring her back I asked if I should come too and she said no. No consent or confirmation was given prior to completing this and of course we were charged.Honestly recalling this makes me think 3 stars is too high for the disgust I have from this experience but here we are. 3/5

I had a horrible experience with Pecan Grove Veterinary Clinic recently. I brought in my 11-year-old English Bulldog because he was lethargic and wouldn't eat. We decided to start with bloodwork and a bland diet. Dr. Edwards assured me she would receive the bloodwork results the next day, which would be her last day because she was taking 5 days off, and would contact me. However, despite her promise, I never received a call. My dog seemed slightly better on the bland diet, but by Saturday, things took a turn for the worse. He wouldn't eat and had bloody diarrhea, so I rushed him to the emergency vet. Interestingly, they also recommended bloodwork, which I had already paid for at Pecan Grove but hadn't received results for as promised. What's worse, I didn't even receive a courtesy call from Dr. Edwards or any of the staff to explain the delay or to check on my dog's condition after our visit. Frustrated, I called the clinic on Monday to express my dissatisfaction. The receptionist told me that she would let Dr. Edwards know, and it wasn't until Tuesday night that I finally heard from Dr. Edwards via text, not even the courtesy to call. Even then, my reply to her text the next day went unanswered. It felt like they could care less. This isn't the first negative experience I've had at Pecan Grove. In a prior incident, they forgot to order necessary supplies for a procedure, resulting in my dog spending the entire day at the clinic for nothing. To add insult to injury, they tried to charge me for pain medication that wouldn't have been needed if the procedure had been completed. Overall, my experience with Pecan Grove Veterinary Clinic was disheartening. The lack of communication, follow-up, and accountability displayed by the staff is unacceptable. I regret not finding a different vet after the first incident and would not recommend this place to anyone.

I have been with Dr. Edwards and Pecan Grove for almost 15 years. I don’t have words to describe how much I trust and respect Dr. Edwards and her practice. Her staff is amazing, kind, and understanding of all my pets needs and little “quirks”. Dr. E loves my little mutt dogs as much as I do, especially my little chihuahua mix.She always ensures that any questions or concerns I have are answered and she will always give it to me straight and not suggest treatments or therapy routes that she doesn’t think are beneficial.Even though I moved away from Tempe long ago, I still drive the 35mins from North Phoenix to go to her and her team b/c I wouldn’t trust my pets with anyone else!

We have been very happy with the care given to our chihuahua at Pecan Grove. They have always accommodated us when we needed to have our little guy seen, and have always been very pleasant and professional. There fees are fair, and they do not recommend tests or procedures that are not necessary.

This review is based on a visit about 2 years ago. My 12 year old Golden had diabetes, was blind, and seemed to be on her last leg. I took her in for help deciding on end-of-life care. The vet assured me that our dog had plenty of life left to her, that her mammary tumors were 99% sure to be benign and that surgery to remove would help her standard of life be improved enough for her to have a happy life. Her surgery was about $3k and was scheduled on a Friday with a contracted surgeon, Dr Evans. We dropped her off at 7am and got the call to pick her up at 5pm. She was carried to our car and laid in our car at which time we noticed she had huge staples and her incision was gaping. No stitches just metal staples. We were given 1 prescription of an anti inflammatory. We asked about antibiotic and pain meds and was told she didn’t need them. Her incision was 16” long. She had a complete hysterectomy and all of her mammary glands removed.By the evening she was clearly in excruciating pain. We called the vets office and no answer, no emergency number. Left a message. Over the course of the next 24 hours we had the same experience with no call back. Took her to an ER and they gave her antibiotics and pain meds. Monday came and Dr Edwards office told us to bring her in at 4pm but assured us nothing was wrong with her and we were just over anxious. The vet came out and yelled at my husband about how ungrateful we were for her help. Assured us they did everything right. This before they even examined her. Finally they took her back. Examined her and said the surgeon would have to review. We took her home. She laid on her bed that night and the next morning I helped her outside to go to the bathroom at which time the staples tore through her, by then rotten skin( according to the ER vet), and she was completely disemboweled. Her diabetes had caused the stables and wound to be infected and not heal. The last days of my dear Goldens life was horrible and aweful. We rushed her to the ER again where we were told the surgery should have never happened given her age, diabetes, and the tumors. There was nothing more they could do for her and she was in horrible pain, she needed to be put down. So we did. Then 3 days later the biopsy came back of her mammary glands taken at the time of her surgery and she was positive for cancer. This was one of the most traumatizing times of our families lives. Wouldn’t have left a review except I’ve received 6 emails in the last 3 months asking me to. I feel this office is still acting in horrible taste by starting to email me after all of this. I never received a follow up call or concern from the staff. Just out of the blue started receiving solicitation emails. We really tried to put this behind us. Total and complete negative energy and heartbreaking. Decided not to file a lawsuit so we could put this behind us but they just keep sending more and more reminders. If this review can help anyone then it was worth it. Some lessons:1. Never do a surgery on a Friday. This knowledge is in the vets wheelhouse. If she is not available for postoperative care on weekends she should not schedule them. So, just don’t do it. Now you know.2. Get second opinions. Meet with the surgeon. Your vet is probably not the one doing the surgery. A lot of information is lost in translation by the time your get it. Go straight to the surgeon.3. Always get antibiotics and pain meds for open surgery patients . Don’t accept anything less. I had multiple ER vets tell me this was completely out of customary practices. Especially for an insulin dependent dog.

I only visited this office once, as I was getting ready to move out of state, but I had a wonderful experience. My regular vet (of 3 years) wouldn't make time to see my pup before we left, but this office was able to get us in within 2 days before our 1,400 mi roadtrip. They were so great with my dog, and his very worried mom, and I will forever appreciate their kindness and honest evaluation.

Dr. Edwards is the best vet in town! She is extremely knowledgeable of conditions. Treats all our animals like they are her own, she not only treats her clients, she loves them.

Absolutely love Doc Edwards and her staff. They are able to trim my cat's nails without having to sedate her (I didn't think that was possible.) Neither of my dogs has been a big fan of the vets office, until Doc Edwards. Zeke loves to go just to see he favorite lady.I can't recommend Doc enough. She is very knowledgeable but doesn't talk down to you. And the staff is very friendly. When my mom's dog passed, her vet was on vacation so I called Doc and they were able to take Mollie Dollie and handled the details with care and empathy.

My first time visiting Pecan Grove Vet and everyone was so nice. From Andrew at the front through to Dr. Edwards herself. My dog was neutered and the care he received, the follow up afterwards, and overall experience was wonderful! Definitely will be going back.
