Horrible customer service asked for help with getting a food item that was out of stock on the shelf but it was on top of the riser it just needed to be put out so we asked one of the associates there if she can help us get it because it was high up and we didn’t want to be those people that just get things ourselves I’ve worked in customer service so I know that’s frowned upon for many reasons right away she seemed annoyed that we asked for help when I showed her that it was at top she did a quick peek into the box and said it wasn’t the item I was looking for she said the item in the box was an item that was already on the shelf that the item I was looking for was out of stock completely but I was able to see the packaging myself so I knew that it was the right item I told her the packaging was different the one in the box is the right one it was the one I was looking for and she kept insisting it wasn’t so I looked again at the packaging and pointed out to her that it was a different color from the one that was already on the shelf if she could just help us get one so instead of getting it down for us and checking herself she instead got on her scanner to check if they had the item in stock just seemed like she didn’t want to help at all like she didn’t want to deal with the hassle of getting The item down for us insisting she was in the right so we are standing there waiting for her to check her scanner at this point I’m frustrated I drove a long way for that specific item so we told her if she didn’t want to get it down we can simply get it ourselves then she just leaves without saying anything and tells another girl to scan the tag of the item to check if it was in stock which was pointless because the item was literally right there in her face in the box that I told her it was in the box even had the name of the item on it so then she comes back with a latter and finally decides to take it down and stock it she rudely asked how many we wanted and rudely handed it to us she was very rude and unprofessional seemed like she didn’t want to help at all she really tried to lie and say they didn’t have it when they did her tone and everything was just unprofessional and I actually think she was some type of manager yikes

I really love world market and I’ve spent a lot of money on furniture here. Usually the staff is so nice but I’m not sure what was going on with the two women working the registers today but they had attitudes and were not kind at all. Maybe they were having a bad day but they shouldn’t take it out on paying customers.

This location is unbelievably slow. This is the second time I’ve tried to do online pickup. The first time, I let it cancel, order from Amazon & literally got my product sooner. I placed another order again today for ONE item. It was easier to just go inside. I actually found the item I originally wanted for half the cost of my online order. There were 2 check lanes and the slowest clerks. Each had ONE customer. The older woman clerk has TJ put the UPC in manually… so I go to the other line and the clerk tells me “I don’t mean to discourage you but it’s going to be awhile for my line.” I left, this place is a joke. Will never in my life be back.

I bought something with cream in it. When I got home I opened it up and it had curdled into chunks. I was told by an employee that it's "normal for dairy to separate into chunks". It is most certainly not. Cream will separate in the liquid form. But when it curdles, it is spoiled. They said I probably didn't like it because of the taste. No I didn't like it because one I poured a glass it came out chunky. They said they would only refund me this one time, but next time they wouldn't take it. They will sell you rancid product and won't refund you when you find out it's rancid? Absolutely unacceptable. This isn't the first time they've sold bad product either. I have received either rancid or opened product on two other occasions. Quality control seems non-existent here. Terrible experience. And to be told that dairy curdling into chunks is "normal" is sickening.

There was a sign advertising 100% recycled materials for an outdoor pillow. But when I looked at the tag on the pillow, it said 100% new materials. I asked a lady worker which it was. Recycled or 100% new. She couldnt even acknowledge what I was asking. I asked 3 different times and she just wandered away. So I left too. I used to love World Market. Not so much after that exchange.

Horrible in-store experience at the Tempe Marketplace location, I came to the store about 10 minutes before closing to grab a last minute present for my grandma. An employee by the name of Theresa at the door informed us that the store was about to close and I acknowledged her and said no problem I’ll just be using your bathroom and leaving since I didn’t have enough time to shop. She then followed me around the store saying for me to leave that I couldn’t use the bathroom there even though the store was still opened? And then was insulting me as I was about to walk out and was refusing to show me her name tag but I still got it. She then threatened to call security on me because I had to go to the bathroom?? I am a long time shopper at this location and this was truly a shock to me. I truly felt discriminated against, not sure what me just going to the bathroom was so wrong to her? I hope she gets proper training.

The description of furniture store is very inaccurate. I avoided this place for that reason because I don’t need furniture. Social media made me dig deeper. I visited the Tempe store and bought a whole lot of South African goodies, condiments, biscuits and they had this gourmet salt from Hawaii, Alaea salt!!! I used it in baked fish today and I was blown away. I would describe it as an International Variety Store:)

Always a great place to find a cool gift for someone. Or snacks from around the world. They have these shrimp chips there that are so freaking good. A little expensive sometimes but totally worth it

Disappointing conditionWell, I realize it is after Christmas and everyone in retail is probably exhausted -but the store today was in rare form.Lines were long when we walked in and the check out areas were in extreme disarray. Two staff were talking for a long time in closed register area.The sample tea was empty and filthy. Many areas needed attention and we suspect they have been extremely short of help.Still managed to find some fun stuff, but this visit was disappointing.Has there been a change of management?

Always my favorite store and so glad they have multiple locations. Of course, because these items are imported, they're on the pricer side .. but these purchases are so fun and so worth it.

Love it. Always a fun store. Always find something with this company. My mom started shopping with them when they started in San Francisco. Happy we can find food items from around the world.
