I booked a gas car but they only have EV at that time so I took it since I prepaid for the rental. That decision ruined my whole planned trip. Many charging stations were out of service and I had to travel a lot to find the working charging stations and wait for hours to get my chance which left me missing a lot of places to visit which I planned.

Sometimes they have “The worst cars” in their inventory. Otherwise, this is the nearest rental center to airport.If you are taking a battery car because they offered free upgrade, then remember that tempe doesn’t have fast chargers. The fastest charger in tempe took 8 hours to charge 20% to 90% for Mach 4E. Absolute disaster.

I rented for 29 days at the TEMPE Avis/Budget office on Scottsdale Road. James greeted me professionally and had me on my way very quickly. Loved the car I received and had no problems with it. Upon returning, James called me by name and, again, he and his staff were very efficient. WONDERFUL customer service. Avis has now STOLEN me from Enterprise. Will definitely return and highly recommend!

Had to drop it off early due to a flight change. Got charged $58 to change the drop off location 10 by miles and to drop it off an hour early because the location we rented from was closed. Total rip off.Update: they contacted me to say "that's in the contract". Yes, I know it's in the contract. $50 to move 10 miles is still ridiculous, fine print in the contract or not.

Horrible customer service, front desk is very rude, hard to work with. I will never come back or do business here. Furthermore telling my friends not to use this company. Front desk staff is extremely unprofessional.

Probably the best Avis location in the whole country! I’ve rented all across the country and have never seen service this good. They’ve always got great cars, they’re very friendly and reliable.Last time I was there, they were recommending a customer to fill gas at a nearby gas station to avoid additional charges. You don’t see such honest and transparent practices at rental car locations. Would recommend 100%.

I am genuinely shocked at the lack of consideration this Avis has shown during my vacation. My mom booked a rental with the pay later option and was told her card declined. We immediately contacted Wells Fargo and were reassured the payment was authorized and as a result, the money had been withdrawn from her account. We then proceeded to ask the representative and manger for a copy of the card declining to provide to Wells Fargo, and we were told to contact customer service over the phone. During that timeframe, Avis sent me on a wild goose chase looking for any transaction information. In the end, we were left stranded with no rental car, no documentation that showed the car was declined, and a bad taste in our mouth. Not once did the manager or representative apologize or provide us with any assistance. We still have yet to receive any sort of refund.

The service at pickup/Tempe was fine. The car was OK, didn't have functional cruse. I locked key in trunk Friday morning while in Sedona ,AZ. Called Avis for help. Spoke with agent for 2 and 1/2 hours trying to retrieve key or get help. She advised could not locate anyone to help, may need tow, could not find anyone to open trunk to retrieve belongings, replacement car not available until maybe late afternoon, and a lot of nothing. Asked for Supervisor, who did find someone to come, but would be over an hour at best. This started before 10:00 am, it was now well after noon and I had to be in Scottsdale by about 3:00 or so. My wife finally located a Road Service that came in about 15 minutes, and opened the car and trunk . We paid the service, Jaws Towing in Sedona, for their charges of $135.00 to open the car. They were very timely, helpful, friendly and efficient. These charges is something that AVIS should be responsible for, plus the lack of assistance that should have been available and provided.Marshall FriedmanRental Agreement 627486425
