This hospital should be shut down. My husband went the for a swollen ankle on Monday Oct 14 He uses oxygen but was not having any problems with that. We never got any diagnosis but spent 8 days in a room on 40 liters a minute of oxygen. Swollen ankle fell by the wayside and was never mentioned again. Doctors were only interested in having hospital hospice to let my husband die. WHY?
After much ado and a full week later oxygen miraculously was dropped to 10 liters which is his base level. No explanation! He was sent home on Oct 22 with a huge bedsore. His arms are constantly jerking causing him to be unable to hold a glass without it flying out of his hand.I don’t now what caused that.
Whoever put bipap mask on him on Sunday morning used enough force to damage his right eye and his nose.
I am now trying undo all the damage the did.
Nurses and other personnel were great except for Sunday morning early hours
Worst experience of our lives.

In all honesty, I would have given this facility a five star rating, but because of the age and overall cleanliness, I had to bring it down a star.
I was at this facility from Monday evening, 10/14 through Friday afternoon 10/18.
I initially went to the ER to be checked for severe abdominal cramps and diarrhea. Upon entering the facility, I was cheerfully greeted by a sweet young lady at the front desk. I completed the forms necessary, then took a seat and waited for my name to be called for my blood work and ultrasound. Stephen, The phlebotomist, was extremely knowledgeable and very funny! He had to not just draw blood for lab work, but also put an IV into my arm. Hardly felt even the pinch, which is a very good sign for me because I am quite sensitive. The lovely ladies back in the ultrasound room were very accommodating and knowledgeable. They explained to me everything that they were going to do, and how I needed to respond with the ultrasound machine and explained how contrast would feel in my body. This was not my first rodeo, so I already knew what was to be expected, but it was nice To be treated as though it were my first time. The ER waiting room was rapidly filling, so it did take a few hours for me to finally get a room. I totally get and understand that… So it wasn’t an issue. I did get a room, I had a very sweet nurse taking care of me while I waited for the PA to come to see me. I was having a very difficult time giving a urine Sample, so they did have to do a catheter. The nurse was very gentle, and it was over, almost as soon as it began.
Without going into detail as to what exactly what was wrong with me, once the PA was able to finally come and see me after all my results were in, she told me that I was going to be admitted into the hospital, So I waited a few minutes and a sweet young man in a wheelchair came to whisk me off over to the hospital side of the building to where the rooms were. From my very first evening, to the last afternoon that I was there, this staff was top-notch! The building itself, sadly, is quite old and she is beginning to show her wear and tear. It is my understanding that they are building a new hospital on the other side of the ER, which is good news because it’s definitely needed. Housekeeping Could definitely have done a better job at keeping my room clean, considering it was a quarantine room and I was contagious. It really bothered me that it wasn’t, hence the four stars.
I want to give credit where credit is due…
Dr. Govani couldn’t have been any nicer and informative. He was very patient with me and answered all my questions, and believe me there were a lot, to the best of his ability. He never made me feel like he needed to be somewhere else. I always had his 100% full attention. A trait I wish more doctors had. The nurses were absolutely exceptional! So kind and caring. They were all very special to me, but I did have some favorites…Raeanna & Berenice were AWESOME!!!!!
Anjelica, One of the nursing assistance was absolutely brilliant! The meals, once I was finally able to eat, solids, were delicious!
I had everything from ham and egg scrambles with bacon and fresh fruit for breakfast, yummy turkey and avocado, bacon sandwiches for lunch and salmon and asparagus salad for dinner. Not your typical hospital fare!!! I felt so fancy! ?
This was my first time ever being at a Banner hospital, as I am relatively new to Arizona, but I highly recommend this facility. I simply do not understand the low ratings. Definitely not justified nor deserved in my opinion.

Poor professionalism by nurses. Mean. Like robots, their way or no way. Don't like to be asked questions of clarifications.

Terrible Experience at Banner Boswell (and All Banner Hospitals)
I wouldn’t wish our experience at Banner Boswell on anyone, especially during an already difficult and emotional time. Hospitals are stressful enough without having to deal with the appalling lack of communication we encountered. Every time a new doctor or nurse entered the room, it felt like we were playing a game of charades. No one seemed to be on the same page. Each professional asked the same questions, and it became clear that no one was communicating with each other. This led to confusion, frustration, and the feeling that we had to constantly repeat ourselves while our loved one was suffering.
To make matters worse, the overall care and attention to detail were shockingly poor. It’s bad enough to be in a hospital, but when you add in the gross lack of coordination and professionalism, it becomes unbearable. Patients and their families deserve much better, especially when going through such trying times. I cannot recommend Banner hospitals and would urge anyone to seek care elsewhere.
To make matters worse, now that we've been discharged and need to continue critical chemotherapy treatments and follow-up appointments, nothing is available for a month! This is despite being clearly advised that close follow-up and regular blood work were essential. The way they handle things is beyond frustrating and makes no sense.
I can’t help but feel that the system is too broken, and it’s as if doctors are afraid to do their jobs properly. Patients deserve timely care, especially when dealing with life-threatening conditions, but the system at Banner hospitals makes it impossible. I would strongly urge others to seek care elsewhere.

After my surgery, I had excellent care. The next day, my IV infiltered my arm and it took several hours before the IV was removed and a new one put in my arm. I was in extreme pain during that whole time. The following day I went home.
House cleaning left a lot to be desired. The floor in my room was filthy. I know that they are short on staff, but still...

Not knowing I had a tumor the size of a lemon on my lungs that was contaminated... In March 2024 when we discovered it cuz my breathing was labored, the team of doctors from day one to having the full lung removed here on September 11th 2024.... I'm telling you from beginning to end it could not have gone any better for me, everyone & everything from this Hospital and these Doctors and their nurses/ teams and other staff employed could not have made it go easier or better for me! I was concerned & in shock and needing a lot of treatments until my surgery day.... So I give them a well deserved FIVE ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐... I've been home for a week and as said to them, The world is still spinning and I'm still breathing with one strong lung at the age of 70, for me personally there will be some more adventures to enjoy in my near future...
It was very scary, but they got me through it, keyword is THEY got me through this, I had my doubts cuz of how scary it looked.!
So I would trust them a thousand percent again and follow their expertise and suggestions cuz they are Angels here on Earth... That's how I see them ALL, they helped me get through a very very scary and concerning chapter in my life.
Thank you to ALL at Boswell in Phoenix Arizona... Many different people and places but they all work together beautifully and I could not be happier I was very lucky and I know I am very lucky to have had them and that location...So glad !!!!
Thank you All, Robin
Yes that is a really nice clean scar / stitches considering the size they needed to go in to remove a full lung so I'm not at all worried it's healing up beautifully... And as you see the food was very good it was nice not having to be in the kitchen or washing dishes LOL ?
Okay,
maybe it was really a great white shark that bit me & spit me out... We know better, it was the expertise of the fabulous team that worked on me.. thank you ladies and gentlemen !

My mom went thru a big surgery this morning at 7am. Del Webb would have kept me up to date on her progress, they have not called me once. Two days ago she went to do her blood for the surgery and she needs a wheelchair, I was told none available, while 2 sat right there. I asked about them and they told me only employees can use them, then I said ok get an employee, was told none available. They WOULD not let me use that wheelchair to get my mom out of the car. So I had to get her out and walk her in. What kind of service is that. No employee then let me use the chair to get her. Nope, make her 86 yr old self walk in. She can barely walk.
NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE ORIENTED AT ALL!!!
DEL WEBB BEATS YOU IN ALL AREAS. TAKE LESSONS FROM THEM.

If I could give negative stars I would. The sad part is I use to work here at this hospital and that’s why I always come back. Saturday night I came into the ER for what I thought was a dislocated shoulder when the x-ray came back I have a fracture at my humerus head in my right arm. They admitted me, hoping I was going to have surgery yesterday, which would’ve been Sunday, but that never happened as I was originally supposed to see Dr. Kelly as the orthopedist and I got Dr. Brewsters PA came to see me. They wanted to send me home without even getting my pain under control where my fracture is at the only way to get the pain under control is to do the surgery. I can’t even go 40 minutes after the original pain meds off with being an immense pain where I’m almost wanting to cry. I spoke with the Char nurse and explained to her what the situation was. I also spoke with another Doctor Who works in this ER who has seen a picture of my shoulder and he agrees the only way to make this better is to do the surgery. It’s now Monday morning and they sent in PT to make sure that I’m ready to go home once again like I told her the pain is not under control. How can you send somebody home that can’t get control of their pain? This is ridiculous. I wonder if it was one of the doctors or the orthopedist that are trying to send me home if it was their son daughter son-in-law daughter-in-law would they be sending them home without letting their pain being under control? It’s very upsetting to know that this hospital wants to send a patient home who they can’t even get the pain under control from the break in my right arm! I was due for pain meds at 5:30 this morning and now because I’m raising a stink they’re withholding my pain meds just to let you know what’s going on here at this hospital.

Don’t ever need a CT scan with contrast and an IV hydration order done at these places because they won’t know how to schedule you!!! It will take over a month of back and forth phone calls and no one communicating with Banner imaging!!! Horrible horrible horrible experience!!! I hope I don’t have lung cancer and I hope it hasn’t grown in the time it’s taken me to set up an appointment
