February 2022 by Art L.
As stated in my previous review of 2006, a session with Lou is like weeks of studying anywhere else. Since 2006, with his teachings in mind, my technical skills increased with practice but sometimes my images failed to send the intended message. Now it was time to have Lou work with me on the less technical and interpretive aspects of capturing and communicating images. In what was a completely spontaneous discussion matched to my needs and interests , Lou explained with wonderful finesse the art of transforming what the eye perceives in 3D into something that is effectively translated into two dimensions and taking into account the limitations of the reproductions of monitors and prints. He went on to discuss how the elements of any scene (light, texture, color, as well as the interplay of lines and spaces) can and need to be combined to achieve that end. The key here is that some photographers can help you with the technical aspects and Lou can do that as well or better than most. However, Lou has studied the science and art of pre-visualizing images, capturing that image and then the artistic part---transforming that image into something more. HIs expertise there is so special. With the dramatic images available in Sedona, and Lou's expert guidance, a morning with him can raise your photographic "game".

What a delightful gallery! We happened to spend a few days in the casita owned by the people who also own this gallery and since the casita was filled with their artwork we couldn't wait to see what they had on display there. In addition to the wonderful photography primarily of the incredible scenery around the Sedona area, they have other tasteful and beautiful works in other media. We ended up buying one of their dramatic copper plates, each one unique in addition to a stunning photo of an agave plant. We would highly recommend this gallery. The owners are hands-on and available with their expertise to help customers in their selections. These are delightful people who have wonderful artwork. Check it out!

Absolutely stunning gallery with beautiful photography, copper work, and Murano glass! I received nothing but impeccable customer service during my visit. They truly take the time to explain their artwork so you can appreciate all its beauty. Definitely would recommend checking this gallery out next time you are in Sedona!

We came here with our 7 year old. He was sitting in a chair while we perused for some art. The woman working at the front came up to our child and told him to sit up straight in the chair because “this isn’t home” mind you the child shoes /feet were not on the furniture at all… we won’t be back, art shops are a dime a dozen in Sedona, do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere.

Stunning photographic artwork! The artists Adam and Lou capture the essence of gorgeous sceneries, the beauty of small things like none else. I was marveled at how many pieces of art reflect crisp clear colors and beauty everywhere!

Wow, wow, wow... my brain is on overload!! Just spent 3 hours with Lou DeSerio taking a photography class and I learned so much. I am a BEGINNER (can't stress that enough) and Lou was such a great instructor taking the time on the beginning part of my 3 hour course to go over all of the workings of my camera, gave me a handout to use to take notes and reference later. I was the only one there today so I am glad to have been learning one on one. I feel like 3 hours was a good amount of time because you can only absorb so much at once. After about 2 hours of instruction we went out to a site and took some shots. Lou is an incredibly talented photographer with so much to offer I believe any level photographer. Also got to meet his wife today and she is so friendly and personable. Their gallery features the work of their son and Lou who both do the photography instruction. I highly recommend this course and feel like I should go back for more at a later date. They also teach adobe classes on site if that interests you. $250 for my class and it was the best money spent.
