Bought a supposedly rebuilt motor from Micheal at irl and paid 2400 for a long block he installed the motor didn’t even make it out of town. He doesn’t honor his work or even have an idea of what he is doing. He was given plenty of opportunity to make things right, and he refuses to. He has no idea about vw motors that’s fur-sure he seems to only do vetch swaps on everything now the motor has been looked over by a real mechanic at a very reputable vw shop it’s already been boarded 60 over it’s junk these are the pics of the metal shavings in the oil and the compression if he doesn’t know what he’s doing and he doesn’t feel comfortable, then he should not even attempt to do it. We are now in contact with the bbb and a lawyer and the rest of the vw community has been made aware of his work and actions

Highly recommended. Easy to talk to. Michael is very mindful and knowledgeable! I had an issue while travelling and he was available immediately to troubleshoot the issue. He was honest and saved me a lot of money by not doing a repair I didn't need.

Far and away the most honest shop I've ever been to. These guys really know their stuff. Had a water pump replaced after a rapid unscheduled disassembly, and proceeded to drive the car almost 1000 miles in one day without any issue. 10/10Service: Auto water leak repair

We had a significant issue on the road with our VW Vanagon 87. Michael took us right when we call and fixed the problem. He did very nice job, at a very fair price. If you're looking for a place where the job will be done by the book, stop looking and just go to IRL. Very professional, good prices and we feel that Micheal wants the job to be done like if it were its own car. We highly recommend IRL!

IRL Autoworks has been very reliable, accommodating and reasonably priced. Michael has always been available when my '74 VW Beetle was in desperate need of repairs. I highly recommend IRL to anyone living in the Flagstaff, Verde Valley or Sedona area!

This shop is incredible! Michael did a full custom engine swap on my ‘67 VW Bug with a Honda K24. It brought this antique into the modern age! It went from 36HP on the original engine two 211 HP with this Honda four-cylinder 2.4 L motor. This was a very complicated and technical job and it runs like a dream. I cannot say enough about this performance shop. Michael is a Honda expert. Whatever kind of custom work you need done, this shop can handle it. They also have a dyno so if you need tuning this is the place to go!Services: Exhaust

10/10 I've gone to them several times before, first for my transmission for a clutch and flywheel replacement, then for my synchros and the shifting was amazing, then I cracked my cylinder head but after a bit he had it back and running in no time, highly suggest.Services: Transmission
