Very small shop through the woods of Sedona. It's been around since the 40's, and there is a clear sign at the street through the very windy part of the road. It's located inside a house, and you need to ring the doorbell to enter. Very nice and knowledgeable lady runs the store and even had pamphlets on the artists and info on they're works. They are open 7 days a week, unless the family that runs it away. There are a ton of interesting & intricate handmade items. Most things are expensive, but I have not seen these unique art pieces anywhere else, so I had to get a few things. Some of the Native artists are actually retiring and no longer creating, so I'm glad to have bought one of their last works of art.

Best shop for genuine Native American goods (not inexpensive souvenirs). Prices are commensurate with the quality of the items handmade by the Native American artists. We make a point of stopping here every time we frequent the Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon area. Customer service by Carol and Dave has always been exceptional. Both are very friendly, knowledgeable, and know the Native American artists personally. Hoel’s Indian Shop provides a shopping experience not to be missed!

By far the best place in Sedona/Oak Creek Canyon to shop for genuine Native American jewelry, pottery, and more. Carol and Dave are very helpful and know a lot about the artists whose work they carry, and provide artist information for each purchase. The shop is nicely laid out and they carry items at all price points. Highly recommend a stop to anyone visiting this area.

I was on a trip with my family in Flagstaff. On our way through the scenic route we decided to stop here to look at some Native American jewlery. It's a nice shop, but the lady who runs it isn't very pleasant. You see, all her items are waaaay overpriced.Maybe they're antiques? I don't know, but don't come here unless your willing to drop $1000s on an item the size of your hand.As I was searching around the small area, she kept following my boyfriend around & not saying anything to him, only hovering over him as he looked through the glass cases, which made him uncomfortable. She gave no good customer service & didn't care to explain any of the items to us.We left feeling disappointed, as this was some white woman's rich shop who is exploiting Native American items for her own fancy.Down the street we were surprised to find a "Native American Craft Market", where there are actual Native American people outside in the sun, selling their handmade items under a tent. There's at least 20 of these tents & all the women are really respectful + friendly. They took the time to explain each of their handmade peices to me & the prices were exceptionally affordable.I definitely found more value & better souvenirs here.(Also heres an example of my handmade cedar bracelet with jasper I bought for around $10)

Carol was warm and welcoming. She made us feel comfortable asking questions and handling the items we were interested in. I found a beautiful beaded necklace created by Larry Joe, shown, and could not be happier with it. We look forward to visiting Hoel Indian Shop, Carol and David again in the future! Hoel is a must stop destination if you are interested in authentic Indian craftsmanship, antique and contemporary! Very nice selection of baskets and other items as well.

Been shopping here for twenty years and can totally rely on the authenticity of all items, especially when we were just beginning to collect. Carol and Dave are always gracious and willing to teach about the art. They helped me to learn and collect pottery, jewelry, baskets, rugs, and lately Zuni fetish carvings. None better than Hoel's Indian Shop. Fair prices too.

The shop was full of beautiful jewelry from local tribes. The owner was super nice. I didn't have my credit card with me and he let me pay with PayPal. Would stop again!

The shop looked like they exploit native artists buying their products for cheap and over-pricing it for thier own benefit. No 'fair trade'.
