This weekend I'll be working outdoors in freezing temperatures. I decided I had better buy some wool socks. Canyon Outfitters is on my side of town, and Sedona these days is split into three traffic zones, so I decided to shop ultra local. I entered a charming store that reminded me of Europe, every inch of space occupied with first-class merchandise. Two enthusiastic clerks listened to my story and guided me to the sock department. After I picked out my Smartwool socks I browsed the rest of the store. The clothing was stylish. I could select from a wide variety of backpacks, sleeping bags, jackets, and shoes. There were hundreds of hats. In all, I was favorably impressed. Now I am happy that I don't have to get through the Y to find quality outdoor gear.

Stopped in to by some Darn Tough socks and came out with much more than planned. Staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Found some Smart Wool tops at a decent price and a couple of sun hoodies on the discount rack. The store is well stocked with backpacks, climbing gear, outdoor attire, hiking boots and much more. Very pleasant experience. Would definitely shop here again!

The staff was amazing! With my crazy feet, the guy helped me try on virtually all the hiking shoes until I found the right ones, which I literally put them on and hiked Cathedral! The man that helped was a retired park ranger. He kept my husband talking so I could keep shopping ? thanks guys! The prices are great, there’s no wild mark up like you see in chain stores.

Really glad we stopped in here to get a headlamp. The friendly fellow behind the counter helped show the different pros and cons to each model, even opening a box or two so that we could try them on and compare. It helped us find the right model for our needs, and we appreciated the time he spent helping us explore the product features. He gave us the space to decide for ourselves what features we valued, as opposed to aggressively assessing our "intensity" and making assumptions about what we would or wouldn't need, as can sometimes happen at other outdoor gear shops.

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The owner took.his time to show my wife how to make her own backpack work with a water bladder instead of trying to.sell her a new one. Very impressed with the place

Pros:Lots of good name brands for outdoor fun.Just about any gear you would need for the area and the rapidly changing temps.Easy to find the location. South side of 89A in West Sedona.Owner / staff were pleasant.Overall nice little store.Cons:Price. Yes good name brands, just a little more on the price tag. It is Sedona.Bcuz it's a tight little store packed full, it has a different feeling than a larger one where you can casually browse without feeling cramped. Just a different feeling cuz of store size.

These guys are really great. Ask for Steve. He is super knowledgeable, although everyone is great there. Steve explained with great detail what to look for in a boot and how to get the right fit. They were very patient and giving. I highly recommend this place.

Better service than a 90's Nordstrom. 1st class. Thanks for helping me find a great set of shoes!

In preparation for the upcoming hike, we popped in for some last minute items. Logan and Christie were amazing. They welcomed us and helped us locate just what we needed. We wanted a mosquito net and we were able to try it on with one of their hats to see which would best fit our needs. So many things to shop for here; average to high price ranges. Glad we stopped in. I would definitely recommend them for your hiking/camping needs.

Good selection and knowledgeable staff although I thought I was being followed around because they thought I was going to steal something...kind of made me upset..

John helped my husband get a pair of boots that did not actually crush the poor man's 14' foot toes. A big man needs some big shoes, and not just any shoes but hiking shoes, boots for that matter. So big shout out to John, he was so helpful the second we walked in. He even brought out this hill slant tester and game changer. Gladly after 5 different shoes, my husband found "THE ONE'S" and we put them bad boys to work right after. I am happy to report that no blisters, they are broken in and we did many hikes after this purchase. I can't recall the exact model/style he went with, but take a peek inside this wonderful place . They have ALL of your hiking needs, fully stocked and organized. Not sure if they stock hiking boots for my pumba boy but he enjoyed waiting for us while we shopped. He would like a pair for his doggy paws. Let's make that happen... dog hiking boots for XXL papas. Oh! My husband did not have a pair of socks and John let him use a pair of socks and said "just keep them" when he was done. Now that's good service. Thanks John! PS Cute private parking lot in the back, tons of parking.

So much inventory for such a small building. Great options. Only draw back was getting help with sizes.
