Be careful with buying fish products. Smell before they pack it. They sell bad food.

Since our usual grocery pickup spot at Fry's is shutting down, we decided to try Safeway pickup today. The person who assisted me, who mentioned she was the manager, went above and beyond to welcome me to their store and made me feel genuinely appreciated. I believe her name was Cindy (order number 90435426). She made an incredible first impression, and we had a pleasant conversation about how great the digital coupons are. Thank you, Safeway, for such a wonderful experience. I will be returning!

We met the store manager, very impressed and they have a bar that makes grocery shopping tolerable and fun. Just an update, the bar is gone. They took the fun out of shopping, Compare your receipt to your discounts, always! Still seems to be very clean and better organized.

Safeway is just such a good store, rewards program allows you to save big, just like bashsa's.

Logan behind the deli counter went above and beyond to render outstanding service. Screw subway. Get Logan to hook you up. On top of everything, he’s a nice person. To Logan: Join the Air Force, Coast Guard or Space force, buddy. They have it the easiest. Don’t be a reservist either. Go active duty. I don’t know if I can finish this monster burrito in one sitting lol. You rock. Thank you.

There was a horrendous smell at the ends of aisle 15 and 16. Nauseating and impossible for any employee to not notice. I let a gentleman that worked there know and he was very indifferent and almost annoyed. Said “yeah, if we see something…” - this isn’t a wait for something to show up smell, there’s something that needs to be hunted down and removed asap. I finished my shopping for the night but was super grossed out.l and just can not see myself going back.

This store simply sucks. Worst in the valley. I called to speak with a manager to help me out. The phong was ringing for 14 mins and nobody ever picked up the call. The rotation of voice to select a number came up 6 times! And nobody was there? At 3:15 on a Wednesday! I can't wait to transfer my pharmacy prescription to the Safeway on camelback. Do not go to the Scottsdale store. What was the issue you may ask? I was calling to talk about the fact I couldn't find a price for an item on the shelf, the guy at the register was clueless...as dumb and dumber ! This store needs better customer service clerk, trained register clerk, and present management. They are obviously on a smoke break in the back, if nobody is at the counter to pick up a call for over 14 mins

A 'new' look to the store. It's sparkling clean! Many good bargains brot me back to this conveniently located store. It's just off #101 at Chaparrel.Without this store the area would become a 'food dessert' as there's no grocery store for miles around. If you live nearby support Safeway at Haydon.

I went to this store after the renovations for their Grand Opening. Boxes of food sitting on the floor in multiple locations. I don't want to buy food that has been sitting on the floor with people's dirty shoes and feet walking by and hitting it. Expired food for sale on the "sale" bakery rack. Crammed aisles, uncomfortable to shop in this store. I went to a manned checkout line and the person went to give me change and then discovered she did not have a cash drawer. Who sends a cashier to a checkout line without a cash drawer? All the carts are now stored outside so birds crap all over them, disgusting. And they removed several cart returns in the parking lot. I left my cart where a cart return "used" to be. Terrible experience, and high prices on top of that!

The store is nice. The people who work there seem annoyed when approached.

Covered parking!! A very appreciated feature in the sunny desert climate. The employees are helpful and friendly, the sale prices have consistently been beating Fry's Grocery over the last year (It's closest competitor for value grocery shopping) The store was really starting to show it's age. However, the store just finished a remodel in January 2024. They could have made it more upscale decor during the remodel considering its location in the heart of Scottsdale. But, the store is always clean and bright. My favorite Safeway Signature brand item is their salted caramel ice cream. Often on sale and always delicious.

My rating is for the remodel. Yes the store is more visually appealing. However, what the heck would you cut back on the cashier driven checkouts. There are now only 5. Lots of self check though. What what the thought process behind that especially when the majority of your customers are senior and technically challenged?

I prefer to leave good reviews, but given my recent, incredibly frustrating experience, I felt inclined to leave this one. As an individual with a disability, I rely heavily on the motorized carts to shop. I had to ask where they were, as there weren't any available at the main entrance, but the employee didn't pay me much attention, so I just went to the other end. There I saw 4 carts and all of them were out of service. As a full time crutch user it's very difficult to carry groceries, so I was frustrated to see none of them available. I would have been okay to wait for one to free up, but obviously that wasn't the case. I'm hoping by leaving this review it will prompt a bit more awareness as to how important these are to people similar to me. Thanks.
