Shame on branch manager, Mayra Kuhse, at the Tatum branch for her subversive behavior today, I presented my mom and all paperwork to get a check and close out my parents' account, my parents were DONE with AmTrust Bank, my mom was equal on the account with my dad, I have FPOA which AmTrust Bank doesn't accept, it had been 3 days of getting nowhere, dealing with an impertinent rep. named Beth Gant at the Shea branch, all at a very stressful time in our lives, Mayra excused herself to go in the back room, obviously instructed someone to call my dad, who was in the HOSPITAL in ICU recovering from emergency heart surgery, to make sure it was okay, the caller asked him if he was alone, if he was really in the hospital, proceeded to chit chat and gain his confidence, again they CALLED an elderly man in the HOSPITAL in ICU on drugs and said they were his bank, I've told my dad to not answer bank calls when the bank initiates them, Mayra came back and acted like she was conducting regular business, made out a check to my mom, never told us they bothered my dad, she KNEW my dad was in the hospital, she KNEW we were having trouble with the other branch because we didn't want him to be bothered, this bank NEVER showed us ANY policy or procedure stating that my dad needed to be present or must be contacted to conduct business, they were throwing a wrench into the works to retain the money, Mayra confirmed before we left with check in hand, "Well, we have to try to retain the money or explain why we couldn't," duh, Beth called me that morning demanding to talk to my dad, I said not unless you show me a policy stating this is necessary, she then called us fishy, well THEY'RE THE ONES obviously taking advantage of the elderly, she wanted to con my dad into another CD with them, on day 1 Beth tried to get my mom to move the money into a 3.5% CD, funny how she could do that much for my mom, said she's known my dad for 16 years and balked that he wanted to move the money to make a better interest rate, well my dad doesn't even know who she is and was highly agitated at her impertinence, he said, "Just get the money!," he will be calling the Shea branch manager, Kenya Delgado Lopez, to make a complaint, Beth also wanted to know where the money was going, what interest rate, balked at brokered CDs, questioned if they were FDIC insured, later she offered a better interest rate, but only for 13 months, STAY AWAY from AmTrust Bank / New York Community Bank / Flagstar Bank or whoever they claim to be today, especially if you have elderly parents and need to establish a FPOA to help them, bottom line is they will do their best to manipulate the situation without showing you their policy, gaslight you that you're the problem, create a sh#! show and sound the alarm against you.
