Be wary of the technique used where they might do back combed highlights to the roots and call it balayage. Balayage is hand painted to give a subtle look and shouldn’t leave harsh lines as it grows out. I received the wrong technique AND wrong color and my hair was over bleached so that its damaged, wont style straight or curled. Went from level 1 black to level 7 in one sitting. Be sure to communicate what you expect from balayage. They also need to fix their phones so that people can reach out if they have issues.

I was over charged and I can't get ahold of anyone to resolve this issue from MONTHS ago. I would absolutely not recommend this not only because of the incorrect charge, but for the lack of concern and failure to fix the issue!!

brianna is amazing!!!!! she completely understood what i wanted for my hair, and the end result turned out to be exactly what i wanted!!! cannot recommend her enough :)

Services: Haircut, BalayageIf I could give zero stars I would. I told the stylist I wanted a reverse bayalage with a few blondes throughout. I had two mini consults with her as I was nervous she wasn't listening. She did a horrible job. I told her that I was not sure it was exactly what I was going for. She told me let's curl it. I left for Hawaii and my hair color got worse as apparently she had used temporary or demi color that completely washed out as well as the toner leaving my hair this orangey washed out color. I also told her I only wanted a partial bayalage which was on special at the time for $195 to include a hair cut. She told me I had to do a full bayalage and she wouldn'tback down. I had already paid for a babysitter so I just decided it wasn't worht arguing with her. I than asked Kaitlyn if the cut was included after she had quickly cut a chunk of my hair off and she told me it was $80 up from the $65 I was quoted on the phone. I absolutely hate my hair now it was so much prettier before. The worst part is when I got management involved they said they would not fix it or offer a refund. I paid $425 for a full bayalage color with two colors blonde and a brown color and a hair cut with a 15% tip with Kaitlyn and I absolutely hate me hair it is highly damaged and now I am going to have to pay more money to get it fixed

I found this salon off of yelp, the owner scheduled me herself and they were very flexible with their appointments so I was able to get right in! I went in for a single color process, a dark brunette, and it turned out just how I was wanting it to. The stylist was also very friendly :)

I had Heather doing my hair and she did amazing! I wanted blonde balayage but my hair was very stubborn because of the past box dye I used, but Heather did the best she did with that and it ended up being brown balayage and it looks so pretty! I recommend going !!

Modern Love is by far the most superior spa/salon my friends and I have continued to return to. When you find a salon that offers superior customer service, relaxed atmosphere and specialists in all areas of beautification; you travel the extra mile. In the years I have been coming here, I have only seen clients who were pleasant and happy with the services they received.We have all (at least I have)had a haircut that we were not happy with. (Jennifer Anniston didn’t like her famous haircut when she started friends) All I can say at this point is, book a girls party, a bridal party, give your tired mother a gift certificate. I am blown away! I saw Heather today for balayage and she is absolutely amazing. So talented. I can't believe my hair got here in one session. I was mortified that I was ten minutes late to my 1st appt (so not like me.. new to area still and coming from Fountain Hills ) and she still met me with a big smile! She is the sweetest and I felt so comfortable. My hair was dull, flat, and needed a trim which she gladly gave me last min. before the color. I am not new to nice salons, balayage, highlights, etc.. but this is the BEST my hair has ever looked while still feeling healthy (actually healthIER). The front desk staff was so sweet and professional. A smile and good customer service (especially in a high end salon like that) goes a long long way. Thank you for an all around great experience!! This tired mama really appreciated it.

I had a haircut appointment with Vyvian, and it was a great experience! I was specifically looking for a Vietnamese hairstylist in the area who understands Asian hair, and I was so happy to find and settle on one after bouncing between hairstylists for years. Vyvian listened to my concerns, and she gave me a haircut that allows for body and movement. She also answered my questions and concerns about haircare for my specific needs. I will definitely be going back to get my hair colored by Vyvian!

I got a haircut today with Vyvian for the first time at Modern Love and the results were perfect. I showed a picture of what I wanted and she did exactly that. She was truly amazing and so kind. I'll definitely be going back for another cut and recommending her to some friends of mine!!
