First Impressions is an academic preschool and Kindergarten that encourages children to discover a love of learning in a safe and caring environment. Children begin a preschool program at age three, joining our Firefly Threes group. Those who have been in our infant and child care rooms start transitioning into this class several weeks before their birthdays. Firefly Threes begin to spend more time with out Pre-K Frogs class as they approach their fourth birthdays. Firefly Threes and Frogs use a theme-based curricula for our three- and four-year old preschoolers that includes manipulatives, music, and art. Math and science concepts are introduced in the preschool program. Our full-day Kindergarten program is taught by a licensed and experienced elementary school teacher with a special interest in teaching Kindergartners. Kindergarten lessons are activity-based and designed to give students the opportunity to learn through exploration, communication, and enrichment activities. Curricula is based on nationally-recognized packages. Computer-based programs are used to underscore certain learning concepts for Kindergartners and children attending KidzCamp, our after-school and summer day camp programs.
