Our family had to make the heartbreaking decision to put down one of our aging dogs, and Ironwood Animal Hospital made that decision a little easier. They were kind and compassionate from the phone call to the office visit, and were the most budget friendly of all 6 of the other offices I called. Thank you!

I am so upset right now. I have been coming to this vet for years. They were so great up until they went corporate. Now, they charge you for breathing. Every time I have to go into this office, I rarely leave without paying anywhere between $150 - $600 dollars EVERY TIME! While I was in the office a couple of weeks ago so my shepard could get her allergy shot (once a month for $200 thank you), I asked them for a refill on my other dog's thyroid medication. All of sudden I am being told "it's been a year, she needs to have blood work done to check thyroid levels". Are you serious? My dog HAD JUST BEEN IN THE PREVIOUS MONTH FOR HER CHECK UP AND VACCINATIONS AND NO ONE BOTHERED TO CHECK HER CHART THEN???!! So I was told to just bring her in and we will do a quick tech check and you won't be charged. We are so sorry this happened. Sooooo, I go there today to get the bloodwork done and am told the charge will be $156. Oh, I am not being charged for an office visit but must be charged for the bloodwork THAT YOU FAILED TO DO WHEN SHE WAS THERE! They literally bleed you dry! I am so disappointed and just done. Looking for a new vet today. Years established and wasted in a heartbeat.

My boxer had to have Enucleation. His eye with no vision in it was causing pressure and pain. Shout out to Ironwood animal hospital and Dr. Wooten. Willey surgery not only went really well, he is healing up great and really fast. It was also a huge help that they give a veterans discount on all the services. The fact the surgery went so well, and my end cost ended up being quite a bit less than the estimate really helps soften the blow. It’s nice when everything goes better than expected. They also pulled a couple loose teeth and trimmed his nails up good while he was out. They went out of there way to take care of my boy. So grateful for them. Swelling is down so much so fast it’s amazing. He is resting comfy and his appetite has not been bothered by any of this at all. My boy is eating like nothing has happened. That’s the best sign that he is feeling better.

Today was the day to say goodbye to my 15 year old cat. He has come and gone through the clinic for close to 11 or 12 years and the staff have been so compassionate and understanding. Everyone has good and bad days that reflect on reviews, but these people are top notch.I would like to speak to the review referencing the older lady who they thought didn't know what she was doing and couldn't stand still. She happens to be the vet for my cats and once she gets comfortable, calms and speaks in layman's terms unless you show knowledge of medical vocabulary. She is one of the most intelligent, thoughtful and compassionate people I have had the privilege of knowing and feel so lucky she has seen me and two of my cats through some pretty challenging illnesses. It supports the saying "Don't judge a book by its cover". I am so grateful for the staff who have given so much compassion. Please don't forget you are all awsome.

Can't say enough good things about our experience with Dr Peighton and the staff here. Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and seemed glad to see us each time we visited. We had a hernia operation done on our Chihuahua (had no idea that was a thing), and he explained what needed to be done clearly and confidently, which put our minds at ease. It appears he genuinely loves animals and wants to make them better. Everything went great and they even texted us updates at various steps.

Yesterday I had to bring my 15 year old pet in to be suddenly be put down. I called Ironwood Animal Hospital and told them what was going on, the lady I spoke to over the phone placed me on a brief hold and then came back and told me I could bring him in. When we got there they were so kind, they came out and assisted us bringing him in. They quickly got us into a room and came in to speak to us. We knew this was end of life care for our best friend and they treated us so well. The staff was caring & compassionate. One of the techs even took our 3 kiddos to the lobby to hang out while we allowed our pet a peaceful passing. Thank you from the bottom of my heart I appreciate your staff. You made what was such a heartbreaking situation just a little less stressful for my husband & I.

Their prices are literally 4 times higher than any other vet in the area!! They quoted me $1500 to $2900 for dental work. My vet quoted $600 to $900 for the exact same procedure! They also charged almost $350 for the consult. My vet charged $60. I absolutely DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!

First time going here. I took a dog I found. The staff was great. The vet tech was so friendly and explained everything to me. She also priced everything out for me to help me make decisions. She didn't make me feel pressured to do anything. She just offered recommendations and explained why. The vet took her time to talk to me about the dog and was very kind and caring. I was worried at first bc of the low ratings but I had a really great experience. The vet tech also gave me a list of things I need to consider doing only because I asked her to not because she was forcing it on me. Was impressed by the whole visit. They made me feel like been going there for years.

Without a doubt the worst veterinary experience I have ever had. There is a reason they are the only place that has next day appointments available! Wanted to exam my cat in the back room, I said no and got a lot of attitude from there on out from the tech. The veterinarian came in, and for being an older lady, it seemed like she had no idea what she was talking about. She couldn’t stand still, seemed nervous and made absolutely no sense which is especially strange because she used no medical terminology. Took swabs for ear cytology and laid the swabs on the dirty table that I’m sure wasn’t cleaned after the last pet. I brought my cat in for suspected ear infection and all the cytology said was “bacteria”. Well, duh! I could have told you that but there goes $70. They wanted $220 to clean the cats ears and said oral antibiotics weren’t an option. I quickly left. After I left with my cat, they called and said she was ready to be picked up! Less than 10 min after leaving. They were shocked and obviously came up with a quick excuse that two cats were named “Charlotte” that day. Don’t waste your time or money!Edit to add:Vet didn’t hear the heart arrhythmia my cat has had for yearsThe ear wash they just told me to buy off chewy actually requires a prescription! Which is fine if they would have mentioned it. We shall see if they approve when Chewy calls!

The office staff is professional, informative, patient, and friendly. I have brought my cats here for years. I have had to put down two of mine, and the staff was so wonderful with us during such a horrible time. Their pricing is comparable to other offices. I highly recommend them.

I recently had to have my 2 dogs which I have for 13 years put down, they were very sick and in pain. My husband and son toon them into Ironwood Animal Hospital. He was very impressed as to how they handled my babies (dogs). They also sent us a very sincere sympathy card. I really appreciated that. If and when I get another dog this will be our Animal Hospital of choice. Thank You everyone
