V Bar V Heritage Site is an amazing and interesting historical site and petroglyph heritage site in the Verde Valley, a short walk from the parking area. It is considered a must-visit while in Sedona, offering a chance to step back in time to a more pure world. The petroglyph panels are powerful, with an amazing solar calendar and astroarcheology set in stone that brings the past to life. The rangers, volunteers, and docents are excellent storytellers who are very knowledgeable. They share great stories and explanations about the many images, aiding in understanding the rich history and mysteries. The visitor center is also noted. The site is a great place to get away from the crowds, well worth going off the beaten path, and highly recommended. A fee is required for entry. It is important to note that no pets are allowed on the site. The land is considered a powerful, calming, and energetic place that was once an oasis, and visitors are asked to treat it with respect.
