I had Jim (owner of Lamerson's Jewelry) appraise a diamond I inherited from my mother's estate when she passed. He did an outstanding job and I learned that the gem was high quality and quite valuable. Pleased and surprised by this, I asked them to make a custom pendant with the diamond I wanted to pass on to my daughter. Again, they did an outstanding job in a timely manner at a reasonable price. My experience with them was very positive and I highly recommend them.

Very disappointed in their work! I went to get a ring sized and a few stones replaced, and if you can see the pictures, the replacements don’t even fit! And are very crooked!

Don't waste your money on a jewelry 'appraisal'. The amount can be 80% more than 'actual cash value'. It is for insurance purposes only. And an insurance company isn't going to give you that amount either. I went in for an 'appraisal' for a pair of diamonds. I was told an appraisal would be $120. While there he asked to see another pair I was actually wearing. I removed them, and he added those to the others. ( I wasn't quite sure why) I also had a cuff with me I asked him if he could tell me if the item was real gold. He added that to the pile. He said he'd test it. ( As far as I know, he didn't. NO mention of this when I picked the items up) He also asked me for a necklace I was wearing. I refused. Two weeks later I was out $300 for an appraisal for all three items. I didn't ask or want an appraisal for the later two. I already knew their value. He also NEVER mentioned the cost for appraisal was $120 per hour! The sources used for the later two pieces was eBay. And those were native american, not anglo made like the actual pieces. The name of which was engraved on the back that would have linked them to the webpage for that artist. Bogus value given was 4 times the cost of the items on the makers webpage. Really? Never waste your money on an appraisal. Beware of some peoples unethical practices. BTW while picking up there was another couple there that was obviously unhappy about their dealings with the owner. The diamond industry is a joke.

One star is too high of a rating for this establishment.I stopped by Lamerson’s 10/25/21 around 11am to give my custom engagement ring sketch to the jeweler and get an estimate on cost and time. I brought my grandmother’s diamond rings with me so they could be measured and weighed which would help determine the cost. The jeweler took down my info, the size and number of diamonds and weight of the rings and Before I left the store I emailed Lamerson’s my sketches and they let me know they were having computer troubles so they might not reach back out till next week.A little over week goes by, and I call 11/4. They said they don’t have any record of me stoping in and we’re still have computer issues. No big deal, I re-emailed the sketches while on the phone with a lady, she said they never went through. She had me text them to her and assured me they would make it into the system. I reiterated again I would be supplying the diamonds, the metal and would need to purchase baguette and round turquoise for the engagement ring and wedding bands. They said they would be in contact in regards to time and pricing.Almost another week goes by and today, 11/10/21, I decided to call. After a few minutes of the lady on the phone looking for my order, she said she would have to get some more info and call meBack. 10-15 mins she calls back, they found my order and started reading off incorrect notes, ring size and stones I was providing. Basically it was all incorrect, I corrected her on what I was providing but then she said before they can get an estimate they would need to weigh the rings I was providing(which they already did in oct) so that when I decided Lamerson’s was not only disorganized but completely incompetent when it came to designing custom rings. Buyer beware!

We are kind of new to this area, and we were just wandering around town checking things out. We went in and my wife fell in love with an absolutely gorgeous ruby and diamond ring. She tried it on and just my luck it fit her. We asked the price and after a little back and forth we came to terms and now the wife has a beautiful pc. for her collection. She buys a lot of jewelry and we recognized the quality of this ring right off. The ruby was very clear, and well cut, not like those chain store "fruit punch" stones. In the sunlight the diamonds were on fire. While they were getting the ring ready to go, we chatted with the owner for like half an hour. The whole experience was an enjoyable, unrushed transaction. Every one was very nice and willing to show us what ever we wanted to see. We tend to gravitate to the smaller, places with that homey feeling. We will enjoy going back, as there were other things that caught her eye. Lamerson's sells both new and estate jewelry, so there should be something there to fit your style and your wallet.

Went to this shop to have a pair of hoop earrings made with some stones my mom had, after an hour and a half of telling him what I wanted and him taking pictures of an earring, I had, because I wanted the same thing just with my moms stones in it, I felt confident I would get what I wanted, wrong, when I picked up the earrings , the hoops were for a 5 year old little girl, I'm a 6' 1" male and the stones were in posts not inlaid, he said I thought you wanted buggies, don't know why , sat here for over an hour and told you what I wanted and you took pics. So now he says I can't inlay those stones, well you should have told me that instead of making what you wanted to make, anyway his solution was to make a ring instead, picked that up yesterday, again he didn't make what was discussed, and beyond that the stones are all off center and not even centered on each other , so 3000$ later I have a piece of worthless jewelry, will be going somewhere else now so they can fix his work. I'm sure this place is good for repairs and buying something in the shop but DO NOT HAVE HIM DESIGN OR MAKE YOU SOMETHING YOU WONT GET CLOSE TO WHAT YOU WANT.

The owner is nice sometimes but not always. I bought some estate jewelry from him and I went to him for repairs and ring sizing. Sometimes I bought antique and estate jewelry online if it was something specific that I was looking for and sometimes asked him if the stones were natural and would often have this jewelry sized or repaired. He had an attitude about it though. Jewelers don't like it if you buy jewelry online and get offended but that's what we do when we try to find something specific that isn't offered at a local jewelry store. Sometimes he yelled at me because he thought I was using him which was strange because I spent money there. He wasn't nice to his employees either. Sometimes he overcharged me and I was the one who felt used in the long run.

When you're going to spend thousands of dollars on a purchase, you'd think the customer service would be better. They didn't even acknowledge our existence and it wasn't busy. We just walked out after waiting 5 minutes.
