Went to Jarz of Clay and it was a great experience! The owner greeted us right when we walked in. There is a dog and I was a little worried when reading reviews but the dog was very well behaved and laid down pretty much the whole time. The owner explained the whole process and was very engaging with my kids (ages4&3) to help them understand the process as well. The pricing was very reasonable. We will be back and I would highly recommend them.

The owner has an anxious dog, it ran to the door barking at me and my kid who both had trauma from a dog in the past. I backed away from the door and she opened it the short conversation led to us leaving instead of spending a gift certificate my daughter got for her birthday bc she wouldn't put her dog on a leash. Bad customer service in my opinion. ?

I did not surprise him, I walked past the door he was staring out and he gave me a crazy look before he jumped up and ran to the door. Then, when I backed away from the door you proceeded to open the door and he stuck his head out growling at us. I had suggested putting him on a leash but you got angry, said he's your dog and you are the owner. You insisted he was friendly and when I told you we're scared of him you did not offer any accommodations, you sent us away yelling a rude insincere apology.
My review is not "blasting", it's pretty basic, I shared my experience at your place of business. But for the record, if there was a zero or negative star I would have rated you differently based solely on your attitude toward me.

Dori is absolutely wonderful!! We took
her lantern project class, it was
fantastic! She allowed my granddaughter who is under 2 to come & paint her own little house as well which ended up making the experience & memories even better!
Dori herself is amazing, so patient &
caring. You can tell she loves what she
is doing!! I highly recommend checking
out her business & especially taking
one of her classes, you won't be
disappointed!! Thanks again Dori

Three of us girls went for a free class offered on various Mondays when they are normally closed. They provide the glaze and kiln time. All we paid for was the piece we chose to paint.The owner is a relative newcomer to this business, so she doesn't suggest options that are tried and true, but she is gracious and accommodating.The choice of pieces is limited, but I think you can order special if you have something in mind. Otherwise, this is a great way to spend a few hours expressing your inner artist and end up with a functional piece of pottery.

Seeing the ad for a pottery class on 7/10, I decided to give it a try, thinking it would just involve painting an object. To my surprise, we actually made bowls from clay -- which I had never done. Although my artistic talent is somewhat lacking, it was great fun. After it "cures", you return and paint it, then pick it up after it has been fired. It was fun seeing the transformation from raw clay to a bowl, lid and cat. The owner, Dori, has the patience of Job and is extremely helpful with both newbies and more expert creators. It seems to be a great place for kids to be creative, too. I would highly recommend it!

It is so satisfying to create beautiful pieces from Dori's extensive inventory. I am no artist, but I've never been disappointed in one of my projects. Dori helps in every way to make a visit to her studio an exceptional experience.
