I stumbled upon Speedway Market while searching for a quick lunch spot, and it turned out to be a hidden gem! The Caprese sandwich was a delightful surprise – fresh and bursting with flavors. The combo deal was a steal – sandwich, chips, and water for just $5. The friendly staff made my visit even more enjoyable. They guided me to the perfect aisle with a smile and even offered to help find other items. This market is a must-visit for a satisfying meal and top-notch service.

Since it went under new ownership the place has went downhill. Unfriendly atmosphere. They don't cash my check anymore while the old owner always did. This store has the highest beer prices in the city now it seems so I go to Luckys down the street now.

I consider myself someone who values small businesses and I have enjoyed Speedway Market for forty-five years and they have kept that mom and pop feeling with wonderful people working their establishment. Speedway stocks so may items which I appreciate often saving me a trip to some big box store… hopefully I’ll see you another forty years!

Came in to give the place a try since I live in the neighborhood. Tried the Mexican food and found it overpriced and underwhelming. I wasn't expecting gourmet dishes, but the service and the food aren't worth a second try.

when your on the go and near the 51freeway access road near oak st. SLOW DOWN your going to miss out on a good local market. Speedway Market will have everything you need if you are looking for that quick snack or a thirst removing soda or tea. Maybe your on the way home from a long day don't forget to stop to get a more adult drink for that nightcap that keeps you on your front porch in comfort. Lets not forget the hospitality of the employees, friendly and very neighborly.
