We had paid for the rental via expedia. Upon getting there, the agent Alexis Jordan, was very confrontational refusing to provide the car despite our receipts, invoices, and having an agent from expedia directly contact her and confirm everything we stated. She spent TWO HOURS lecturing us about how hard her job was...great thanks.

Customer service here is a joke. I arrived a bit early for my reservation and asked the representative if that would incur extra charges, and he said "not a problem." He then asked if I wanted "basic or premium" insurance coverage and I said basic. The final bill I was stuck with had over $100 of additional charges due to an additional day's worth of charges for insurance/rental time, an unauthorized Premium Road Service coverage item, additional insurance costs associated with the car I selected from the designated row, and additional costs in having to fill up the car's gas tank halfway through the reservation because the tank wasn't completely full even though the gas tank meter said it was.The lack of proper notice and authorization for these charges was unacceptable and amounted to fraudulent misrepresentations that deprived me of the opportunity to make decisions that would avoid those additional charges. I am seeking a chargeback from my credit card company because of these unfair business practices. I warn anyone who is renting a car from here to make sure you are properly notified of the consequences of your rental decisions. Also, be warned that Dollar's customer service phone line is completely automated and has no way to speak to a live representative, so you'd have to submit a complaint form on their website which was of course useless.

Zero stars if i could. This is the dumbest company I have ever seen. We were told to just go "pick a car". No one helped us. I strongly recommend that you avoid this POS company.

My wife recently went on a girls trip and we prepaid for a car here. She ended up declining the additional charges, but later they still charged us for it (more than the prepaid amount we had already paid in full). We’ve been on countless searches where their customer support is non existent. We disputed the charge through our credit card service, but still received many letters from dollar saying we owe it—they even sent a debt collector. Honestly, the worst experience of a car rental we’ve ever had.

Hello everyone,Bad customer service, long waiting times, they charged me 180 dollars for nothing, by mistake, until now they are not ready to fix it and I am at war with them, trying to contact them for 3 months without an answer, they are trying to turn me around and not give a serious and proper answer, not recommended!

If I could give a negative star I would. We rented a car for three days and when we dropped it off the attendant told us where to park and said we were free to go. We thought it odd that nobody scanned the car and gave us a rec. a few days after we got home we call text messages and emails saying we need to return the car. I reached out and told them it was returned. I then got a bill for 10 extra days. We are still getting harassed and today I provided a Southwest Air travel record showing we were on our flights, both coming and going, three days apart. If you have to rent from these mockers, make sure you look closely at the paperwork before you rent and make sure you get a receipt when you turn the car in. Incompetent people.

The worst experience I've ever had while traveling. We were given a faulty rental car and got a flat tire in Phoenix just down the road from the airport on a Friday night. It took them over 2 hours to get a tow truck to us and we had to get a taxi (paid for out of our pocket) back to the airport. We felt incredibly unsafe sitting in the disabled car waiting. We then had to wait another hour or two at the airport while they sorted out another rental car for us. During this time we decided to just pay for another rental car after a 4 hour+ ordeal and missing our first night of our stay at our Airbnb (as it was a bit too far to drive to Sedona in the dark / unknown area when we were very tired). Dollar car rental took months to reply to my request for a refund and reimbursement of our costs. They never provided this and instead offered a partial credit to us to rent with them again.Highly recommend avoiding...not worth the lower cost!! (We now only go with Enterprise or Avis and have not had an issue)

This is the worst car rental experience I’ve ever had. I reserved a car up front and paid up front. When I arrived, they told me they didn’t have any cars in my category left and that I would have to pay to upgrade. I said no. They then told me I could get an electric vehicle for the same cost but that it would take some time to get one ready. I waited 45 minutes. When the car came, it only had a 60% charge.Anyway, that’s what happened on the front end.On the back end—they charged me an upgrade fee as well as charged me for “returning the car an hour late”. I returned the car 45 minutes prior to the time I said I would return it. If I returned the car an hour late, I would have missed my flight.Oh and you cannot speak to anyone about this. There is no customer service line. When I complained online through the form I received no response. This company is committing fraud and getting away with it. Watch out.

My worst car rental experience ever, they have only 1 people taking care of more than 60 customers, average wait is 1.5hour to get the car, try to avoid as much as you can for this site.

Renters beware!!The counter staff will be very friendly and gain your trust. Pay attention to what you are signing and don’t let your card down!They will ask you to confirm that you are signing the collision waver, tank of gas but instead they will charge you for it. They will even tell you that the amount shown is a hold on your credit card and you will not be charged that.Take a look at the print out you get and if you see any of the charges tell them to cancel and redo transaction!!I has an older lady in her late fifties and she ripped me off. Contacting the customer service didn’t help. I paid for things I didn’t want…..don’t be a victim!!

Read over majority of these reviews and this company is ripping people left and right. We got there at 3am and they took advantage adding on extra fees when Expedia said it would be $77 at the counter it became $600. Totally unacceptable because fees and taxes were included in the 77 amount. Workers were rude and unprofessional. On top of that we didn't get the car we asked for and it upped gas immensely. The lady was just giving out cars randomly saying "I don't know why they do this to me I don't have any cars to give". Luckily we asked for gas instead of electric because I didn't see a single charging station the entire time we were there. My boyfriend and his dad are disputing through Expedia and dollar (obviously Dollar hasn't responded and doesn't have a representative you can call only a forum) way to spell out guilty without saying it directly. I will be disputing off of my credit card as well. Any way this goes they messed with the wrong people cause I got the time in my day to drive back to the airport and speak to anyone at Dollar. They also gave us 4 receipts all with different prices on them... get it together y'all are embarrassing.

SCAM!!! I booked thru Priceline and gave the employee at the front desk my confirmation code. They charged me TWICE, once thru Priceline and then direct from Dollar Rental. NO luck getting in contact with customer service BEWARE this company will ROB you blind!! MAKE THIS RIGHT DOLLAR CAR RENTAL!! UPDATE - Dollar has said i would receive a refund for them charging me twice in 5 - 7 business days in an email. The refund never went thru and I contacted again to be told NO refund even tho we charged you twice!! It is not my fault the employee did not enter the information correctly, and I am owed the refund for a double charge. BEWARE of this company, this keeps getting worse.
