AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS - This is the worst company to do business with. Avoid at all costs. Never sign a contract with them. Never accept any equipment form them. Never believe the sales reps commentary about upgrading services. If I could give this company a 0-stars or negative stars I would.

My wife and I have been a cox customer for over ten years , paid ontime always , started having trouble with cameras blank all day , internet dropping out for hours at a time , this was going on for almost a year. My wife works from home , it cost us alot of money for missed work hours. Cox supervisor named charity promised to credit a months bill. Never happened. when we called in to find out why they said there's no record and they would listen to phone call and reach back out , month went by nobody reached out. Called back talked to supervisor told them about all conversations and promised credit , he simply stated not going to happen , not going to listen to any phone call and not going to give you a full months credit regardless of what my supervisor said. Could have cared less about this customer. Buyer beware, they don't stand by their product , their word and most importantly their customer.

Cox – The Ultimate Ripoff Artists Abusing Their Monopoly
Cox is the absolute worst internet provider out there, and they get away with it because they have a monopoly in many areas. As customers, we are stuck with their terrible service and extortionate pricing because there are no other options. It’s beyond frustrating how they take advantage of their monopoly to steal from their customers.
They constantly overcharge for subpar internet, hit you with hidden fees, and raise prices without notice.
Cox’s business model seems to be “exploit customers as much as possible,” and they do it with no shame because they know you don't have no alternatives. Their data caps are an outright scam – designed to squeeze more money out of you, and it’s absurd how they justify charging for overages when they already overcharge for basic service.
The way Cox treats its customers is downright abusive, and they only get away with it because of their monopoly. It’s time for people to speak out and for regulators to step in. Until then, stay far away from Cox if you have any other choice.

I have been a Cox customer for a while, and I can confidently say that the only reason they retain so many customers in Arizona is because there are limited internet options. If there were more competition, I’m certain they would lose a significant portion of their client base.
Their customer support, especially the chat service, is among the worst I’ve encountered with any company. The agents are often unresponsive, unhelpful, and seem uninterested in actually resolving issues. It’s incredibly frustrating when they don’t take accountability for their mistakes and refuse to offer any compensation, even when the issues are clearly on their end.
Cox seems to take advantage of their limited competition, but they really need to step up in terms of customer service and accountability. If you have other internet options, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.

Cox will not stop services until I pay and they continue to charge even without providing services. THIS IS BAD BUSINESS

I’ve had cox for 3 years with few issues. My apartment had a contract with them so it was already hooked up when I moved in. Recently I called to disconnect and the rep was of course worried about retention. I was moving to another state so this wasn’t an option. It was disconnected and I moved. Three months later I received an email that I had to return the equipment that was already there when I moved in to a cox location or I would be billed $240. I moved out of state! First off why would I have to return equipment that was already onsite? Why wouldn’t the rep state this when I called to disconnect ? I asked to speak with a supervisor several times and was always told “they’ll tell you the same “. What kind of company is this? I’ve worked in service for years! This would never be okay.

I have also contacted the Arizona Attorney General's office concerning Cox Cable. The AG's office has yet to take any action against Cox for disregarding their request to provide written responses through the AG's office, to stop calling me and leaving threatening voicemails and to stop violating State and Federal consumer protection laws which require cell phone plans to be in writing with clearly stated rate amounts. Hopefully some savvy attorney will read these reviews and initiate a class action suit.

Edit: I contacted the Arizona State Attorney General's office and filed a complaint. Suddenly Cox was willing to help! I recommend y'all do the same!
I had changed my Visa debit card and forgot to update it with you at Cox. This resulted in a fee and a punishment of not being allowed to use my new debit card.
They won't do anything about it to help.

I had bought my 100mbps plan about 3 years ago and just noticed that back in November my plan was changed to $155 a month (500mbps and “unlimited data??) without my knowledge or approval. I spoke with customer service who fixed my plan back to what it was at $50 a month for 100mbps and offered me $50 in credit from last month. It felt unacceptable so I called and spoke with Rico who claimed to be the account manager in Phoenix. He basically said theres nothing they will do and can not offer me the aforementioned credit or a reimbursement because it has already been months since the change and “I was notified of the change” but he specified that I have to go into the cox app and look for the notifications that mention this. He was acting disrespectful and rude, happy to blame me entirely and try to rush me off the phone. I don’t understand how an account manager in a customer service role can treat customers like that. I don’t ever leave google reviews but after see all the other 1 stars, I had to mention this. Cox clearly doesn’t care about their customers if they let their employees speak to customers like that. Just embarrassing dude, i don’t understand how that guy is a manager with how he speaks at (not to) people. I’m happily looking into a new internet service right now after being robbed over $700 this year, without anyone trying to make things right. Crazy service, that guy should be ashamed of himself.

Worst internet provider I've ever dealt with in my entire life. Failure to provide reliable and consistent home internet willfully, purposefully, and knowingly provide technical support agents with wrong information to handle service requests. Technical support agents failing and refusing to show up. Customer service agents are disrespectful, rude, and asking inappropriate questions and making crude inappropriate comments that have nothing to do with the internet or Cox Communication issues. Customer service agents are going into customer accounts and willfully, purposefully, and knowingly changing customer's internet host names, internet names, and passwords without the customer's knowledge which is illegal under the law, since a customers personal information such as Legal Name, Drivers license information, home address, bank account and card information.

Poor customer service, currently dealing with Cox losing our plan and changing our monthly rate from $60 to $80 when dealing with my significant other, they tried to have her billed $150/m double our initial monthly rate. Unacceptable, what kind of business are you running.

OVERCHARGING FOR EXTRA INTERNET!!!!! if i could give negative stars i would give my whole lifesaving worth of negative stars to Cox. Terrible company. Terrible employees. I was told in person that my account charges were gonna be $105 a month but woke up to a $50 added and an additional $70. Lied to and harassed on the website chat and Corporate support number. I recorded all interactions with Cox for anyone wanting proof!

Tech support is ok but all other customer service here is worthless. Avoid if you can.
