Wish I didn't have to write this review, but when an owner of a business can't back their product and find every excuse in the book not too, it deserves a review. Especially for a customer that has done business with them before. We purchased a transmission based off of a VIN from them and they delivered us a 6 speed automatic versus the CVT we requested. It then took another few days until they got the right transmission, and we had to pick the transmission up. Upon installing the transmission, the vehicle didn't move. We then verified if the transmission had a filter in it by pulling the pan, and found out the transmission has water in the transmission that we received. Explaining to chapin that after we installed it the transmission didn't move, they became very defensive and claimed we didn't give them the core within 7 days. Which we did when we picked up the transmission.
They also tried to say that because it took us longer than 7 days to install, that they weren't going to warranty it. It's sad that a wrecking yard won't back up their product. Be careful with what you buy from here, the run around that they give you. Also be prepared to continue to stay on top of them to get your order done, otherwise you'll never get a call back. This goes for both number 1 and 2 locations.

I own a mechanic shop and I'm trying to purchase a used engine for a customer. I called Chapin and spoke to Kevin. He stated he has the engine I need and it has 112k miles. After I got the vin# and verified with carfax that it has 184k miles I called him back to let him know it's not okay what business ethics they are practicing. Kevin says "there is nothing wrong with lying to customers, I mean we are all in it to make money right".... Really sad there are companies like this that exist. And that's coming from a mechanic shop owner!
