December 2016 by Maureen Arnold
In December 2015 I donated a mobility chair and scooter. When they came to pick them up, they only took the chair as they didn't have room for both. They said they would return for the scooter. In January, I contacted them to see when they would be picking up the scooter. Because I live in the far east side of the Phoenix area (Apache Junction), they said it was too "inconvenient" for them to make a "special" trip, but if I really wanted the scooter out of my way, they would do so."Special" trip and "inconvenient"? What's so "special" about doing what they were organized to do? "Inconvenient"? Is there someone on their waiting list who would love to have this scooter, but don't because the organization they are relying on for help isn't doing their job?My scooter is in excellent shape and they know that because they saw it when they picked up the chair. They even commented on what good shape I had maintained it in. All it needs is new batteries.Based on their performance in this area, I think it is too "inconvenient" for us to make any more donations to this organization.
