My experience at Ahwatukee Physical Therapy left me feeling frustrated and disheartened.I was undergoing physical therapy for a recent double lumbar spinal fusion. Unfortunately, I don’t believe this facility has the expertise or experience to properly treat this condition.I expected a personalized care plan with regular updates and guidance for me to followup with at home. I wanted to make certain I was doing my exercises and stretches correctly since I had undergone such an extensive and painful surgery. I will note that my initial treatment and at home guidance were adequate. However as my treatment advanced my care became sporadic and inconsistent. This occurred at a critical time of my recovery (three months postop). I had to ask on three different occasions and wait over two weeks for updated written guidance for my home exercises. In addition, this facility seemed to follow a one-size-fits-all approach, without taking into consideration the type of surgery I had undergone and its unique circumstances. When I voiced my concerns to the therapist and owner of the facility he appeared arrogant and disinterested. For example, I told him I was concerned that I had not received timely updated instructions for me to perform my exercises at home. I was completely taken aback when he told me that he did not have to provide me with written instructions but he was only doing so as a courtesy. As a healthcare professional myself I knew this was not true and he was not providing the proper standard of care. Written instructions and guidance are vital for assuring exercises and stretches are done correctly so as not to hinder your progress. It was clear at this point that he was not concerned about my recovery and my trust was broken. I would not return to this facility nor would I recommend it to anyone for postoperative spinal surgery.

After being unsatisfied at another practice, I changed to Ahwatukee Physical Therapy. I'm so glad I did! Personal treatment, one on one time with your therapist, a treatment plan that is specific to you and an at-home plan are all part of the reason for my satisfaction. The staff is very knowledgeable & communicative and they listen. It is a smaller more intimate atmosphere than the other place I tried. The music isn't loud and the people are very nice. I feel confident that I will heal well under their guidance.

Eric runs a no-nonsense practice, which I appreciate. The entire team has been very helpful in getting my back issues resolved.

Eric is very knowledgable. He set up and monitored my therapy plan. Only downside is that it took 5 days to email me the exercises they wanted me to do at home - but there was a holiday in those days.

Eric, the owner, and his staff are miracle workers. My wife and I have been using their services since they opened a few years ago, and they have been able to reduce or eliminate all sorts of pain very effectively. They were even able to find the root cause of my wife's hand pain and numbness, where specialists weren't able to. Kudos to everyone there.

From the moment I first met Eric Burness, his demeanor was rude and dismissive. He seemed disinterested in my concerns. During the session, he became increasingly aggressive and impatient. He used a condescending tone and belittled me when I asked questions about my treatment plan or expressed a concern or question.Thinking he might be having an off day, I gave him a second chance. In the second session, when I had too much nerve pain to do many exercises, instead of offering me a modality to relieve my nerve pain such as heat or ice, you told me it would be best not to come in if I am in pain. At the same time, patients to my right and left were being treated with modalities such as ultrasound and electric stim yet he offered me nothing to relieve my pain. I cannot imagine my doctor or any medical professional worth their salt telling me not to come in if you were in pain! No patient should have to endure such unprofessional and abusive treatment from a healthcare provider.I would not recommend Eric’s services to anyone based on my experience. His behavior was completely unacceptable. Patients deserve to be treated with respect and dignity, and his behavior fell far short of those standards.

Just had a recent bout of Vertigo and was very afraid about going to see a PT! Eric and his staff at Ahwatukee Physical Therapy were very comforting, caring and thorough! Every patient that was there was treated like family when they walked in the door! I felt very relaxed and at ease with their level of care!! It was greatly appreciated!! I truly recommend going to see them!!

Attended physical therapy here for a neck injury I sustained. They've done a great job getting my neck back to where I can actually use ít!

Eric and all of his staff members I worked with did a great job on straightening out and strengthening some problems with my knee and shoulder. Eric and his experienced therapists professionally evaluated my areas to work on at key points in the process. At the end, my results included fixing the issue, removing pain and strengthening the muscles and joints. I highly recommend this physical therapy practice!

Have been using APT for a couple of weeks. So far, I have no complaints or negative comments of any kind. The staff is great, friendly and patient.

This review is overdue, but my gratefulness to Eric and his attentive team will never expire. I was in need of PT and knew my experience elsewhere had not been successful. To my surprise upon my first visit, my heel injury was diagnosed accurately and treatment began that day and continued for 5 weeks; at which time I was healed, released and back to running. Eric is extremely knowledgeable and has the ability to explain how and why the injury happened and the weaknesses in the body that need strengthening. If another injury should occur, APT will be my go-to clinic, offering many modalities of therapy in a clean and sanitized environment during a pandemic!!

Just an awful experience. I’ve never been so insulted in a place of business, apparently that guy is the owner! Unbelievable that he gets away talking to people in such a rude, condescending, and unnecessarily confrontational manner and is still in business. I feel bad for anyone who gets stuck going here.
