Interesting to read one of the recent bad reviews of this store. Im a parent and reading that a manager cursed out a woman and her little kids is just ...horrible I never bother writing reviews but I originally came here to gripe about how stoopidly expensive worn shoes are at this store (you can buy the same shoes NEW at Aldis).
Anyway, gripe aside, my curiousity got the best of me. So I found the original yelp review about the cursing manager, but I also found an even (worse) review of a guy picking up his kid and sees a woman closing up the store while carrying an armful of non-work related houseware "things" to her car. WOW. Just wow. So Goodwill staff get to pick out donations they want for themselves? So Goodwill says they use free public donations to create jobs? And yet, they are stealing these donations from the public when people are struggling to find work?! Not that this store couldn't sink to new lows. Sounds like the guy tried reporting it but Goodwill didnt give s#it. Unforgiveable. Started shopping at a local small thrift store that supports a shelter after reading these. You should too.

Before Christmas, my wife took our 2 small kids here to find some decorations. She and my kids were (accidentally?) cursed and yelled at by the lady night manager, Frankie. When my wife got home, she was so upset, she was shaking and the kids were poking at each other with their new favorite curse word they learned. We tried reporting this to Goodwill corporate department to complain, but Goodwill just kept passing us off to someone else who didn't care. We never got any return call from a manager... looks like Goodwill can verbally assault your wife and kids in public and pretend it never happened. This was my wife's review on Yelp from many months back. Dont shop or donate here, let alone bring your kids here.
"Unforgiveable mistake by the night manager, a woman who goes by "Frankie." I took my kids (ages 6 and 7) at 8:30pm for some fun holiday decor shoppping a couple weeks before Christmas. A woman who had just left the store walked outside just as we walked inside, as we were blasted by the manager screaming "BYE B1TCH!! at us while waving a finger in the air. My kids and I were stunned, eventually realizing this was meant for the customer who just left and not us, which is obscene. A family night with my kids was ruined as I spent that eve and drive home trying to parent my kids that screaming profanities as a greeting to people is wrong. Hard to do when they see a "professional" adult losing their cool and abusing the public. This Goodwill has become so crass and ghetto that they cant find a manager who is capable of professional self control? This is why there are parent controls on the internet, ratings on movies, and age minimums for bars... so your kids arent exposed to vulgarity whrn they are ... little kids. Shame o. you, Goodwill, for hiring such an out-of-control juvenille who couldnt control her tantrum in a supposedly family-friendly space. Disgusting. I will not support this store, nor will our family and friends after this."

NO SHOPPING CARTS!! I hope a manager reviews these and does something about it. Its very difficult to shop when I buy as many items as I purchase. I go here once a week. Seldom any shopping carts available for use. A couple times I sat and waited for one at the checkout stand. and a couple times they even brought one to me as I was shopping. Studies have been done. People buy more stuff when carts are available. I thought goodwill was smarter than this. Get some more carts. All this stuff is donated for free. And you would sell more of it if you provide a little better for the customer.

We bought a chainsaw at the ahuatukee location yesterday we asked if we could return it at any location we were assured that yes you can. The sticker didn’t scan when we were checking out so he manually inputted. It didn’t work so we came to this location to return the previous employee marked it as miscellaneous and for this reason he said we would have to drive 40 minutes to return it as if we went through the trouble of making a fake goodwill sticker and try to return it. He said “there’s no way for me to know you bought this at goodwill. Like are you actually kidding that makes no sense when all we get back is a gift card anyway so what are we trying to “steal” horrible customer service by corbin
