My child was enrolled in to this daycare for before and after school care. In the peoria area my child also attended sunrise preschool and although sunrise is not a bad place, peoria ave preschool was definitely the better option. In the morning they provided breakfast and after school they provided snack/meals. Both the director and assistant director are really good people. They are super welcoming and make you feel comfortable asking questions and communicating with them. They also are really good about letting you know what's going on throughout your child's day. They use an app to update parents about their child and any announcements or reminders they need to send out. We never had any issues with the teachers or staff. My child loved going there. Peoria ave preschool is one of the places I'm sad to have to leave due to us moving out of the area. If you're looking for childcare, coming from someone who has worked in childcare in the past as well as had my child enrolled in different child care locations , Peoria Avenue Preschool is definitely at the top of my recommendation.

I've had nothing but good attitudes and positive feedback whenever I've brought up any concerns about my son. The staff has always treated my family great and I feel safe knowing my son is taken care of well while I'm at work.

Front office people are horrible, super rude, ignorant, overheard them gossiping about staff, overall bad environment never going back there again

The management team at this center truly does care about all the kids. It breaks my heart to see negative reviews, from people who “hear” things or perceive the staff as not caring. The two assistant directors who have stepped up while the director is away on maternity leave, have shown so much compassion and care for my kids. I am proud to leave a positive review for a center my kids love so much. Teachers are grossly underpaid, overworked & exhausted everywhere you go, you will find this at almost any center, try to spend a day in their shoes. While there are things that could be improved, I will choose to discuss that with my childrens teachers. Thank you all for everything you do for our littles?

Approximately a year ago, we enrolled our daughter in this daycare facility. Initially, the experience was wonderful. The teachers had a well-structured routine for the children, and Jackie, the director, was exceptionally adept at her role. However, in the past six months, there has been a noticeable shift. Regrettably, Jackie, the director, has been less present in the office lately, and in her absence, Skylar has stepped in to assume some responsibilities. Since then, my wife and I have observed a high turnover rate among teachers, with some not showing up at all. In the same period, we've noticed a decline in our daughter's behavior during her time here. The teachers and staff attribute this to the integration of children from younger classrooms. When we inquire about the daily routine, it's become apparent that maintaining one has become a challenge due to the constant shuffling of staff and shortages. We've received numerous calls regarding our daughter's behavior, even requesting us to pick her up on occasion, as they've expressed difficulty in managing her. It's important to note that at home, we have no such issues with her; it seems to be unique to her experience at this daycare. One morning, while my wife was dropping off our daughter, my 13-year-old son was also in the car. We witnessed a parent berating her child in the parking lot, using profanities, and demanding that he board the bus. The child hesitated, expressing reluctance. The parent went so far as to threaten involving the authorities with this young child, all in plain view of my son. Skylar, who was standing in for the absent director, intervened, but unfortunately, her involvement only exacerbated the situation. It reached a point where even my 13-year-old son felt compelled to speak up, saying, 'Mom, this isn't right.' If this is representative of how Skylar manages the daycare in the absence of Jackie, it's hardly surprising that teachers are leaving, and attendance has become inconsistent. Finally, on 10/13/2023, we received yet another call from Skylar, insisting we pick up our daughter. My wife explained that while we would do so as soon as we can, but we can't keep leaving work at a moment's notice. Upon my wife's arrival at the daycare, she discovered that our daughter's belongings were already packed, as though we were being abruptly dismissed from the facility. When my wife attempted to locate Skylar for clarification, she was nowhere to be found. Instead, she was informed that Skylar had dropped off her radio in the front office and departed for the day. Such behavior strikes me as highly unprofessional and immature. Leading up to this, threats were made to suspend my 3-year-old from the daycare for 2 days.On multiple occasions we were told our daughter was biting and pinching other children, but when we would pick her up, she would have bite mark bruises and marks on her body indicating other children were biting and pinching her. When we addressed it with the teacher, the teacher agreed saying she isnt the only student doing it.I want to make it clear that I am not making excuses for my 3-year-old daughter's behavior. It's become evident that she picked up these habits from the lack of structure in her daycare over the past six months. It's disheartening to find ourselves facing expulsion over behavior that was essentially overlooked by the staff.I would only consider using this daycare as a last resort for placing your child. The staff have little to no training, and do not know how to handle children.

The teachers have no control over the kids they have special needs kids that walk around hitting other kids and they do nothing about it. When you call to tell the teacher they have the nerves to get an attitude just because the parent is Calling on defense of there child. Very unprofessional. You shouldn’t work in childcare if your not going to make sure EVERY kid is safe. Today my child came with a bump on his head.

This place is disgusting. Floors are always dirty, and the kids are always hurt. Had my kids here for a couple of months and it was not good. The staff seems unappreciated and underpaid by the looks of their faces. Some of them look tired or burnt out. I’d like to give a shout out to Keisha, Stephanie (not sure how to spell it), the teacher with colorful makeup, Sam, and Jackie my kids always talk about them even after leaving.

The only reason I am not choosing this place because of my knowledge of regulations. It show the kids sleeping close and the rule is 18 inches apart

Took my brother here for a few weeks and every day he would come home with dried boogers all over his nose. The buildup was so bad that whenever we tried wiping it off, skin came with it and he would bleed...

Sylvia and Sam were the best teachers there, absolutely loved them, and my daughter loved them. As soon as they left, my daughters teacher was cocomelon. I saw that on every time I walked in, never got any projects or art from her. I would see teachers laying on the floor or on their phone, never any adult reaction or reassurance. They seemed understaffed and underpaid. I definitely loved it initially but in the end, it got extremely lazy.

After calling twice to confirm availability for my son,I advised the gentleman who answered my calls I only need 3 days he quoted me and assured me there was availability I made plans to pick up an enrollment packet I show up and a woman in a revealing top usually I don't care but I'm not talking bra straps are showing it was more .. she shows up after 10 minutes and a call to the office. I explain why I am there she tells me she doesn't know what I'm talking about. that infants thru 5 years of age are specifically full time only.. I asked for the male who answered my calls she said yes he's there but no I got misinformed 2x. They do coincidentally have signs with very detailed instructions on how to get government assistance for daycare. Seems to me like they just push full time in an effort to get that money .

I can recall this place fondly. My daughter was between the age of 1 to 3 years old when she began attending and then off and on over the course of a couple years. MOST of the teachers were friendly, the center itself was clean and organized for the MOST part and conveniently located across the street where i lived at the time. So it was the only place at the time that i looked at and being a new mom i just jumped right in to the daycare experience after being at home with my baby for the first year and then the 2nd year as well before i started dental assisting school and had interviews here and there. The only bad review i would have is of a teacher who we nicknamed Evil Emily for her boldness and downright disrespect when i had dropped off my daughter on the way to school one day and she let out the biggest sigh followed by "OH MY GOD" which at the time threw me completely off guard. My daughter at the time was 2 and still not accustomed to being in daycare would cry when being dropped off which is heartbreaking enough and to have received that welcome that day was Extremely disheartening. After that I felt bad leaving her there w that woman so much to the point i pulled her out and found a place closer to my school. Other than that i can't really think of anything bad to say.
