I've tried on so many occasions to get some actual service here and it's just not worth it. Unless you are simply dropping a prelabeled package off, find somewhere else. The manager/owner/whoever he is to that business is flat out lazy. He complains the entire time that he's the only one there, tells people that helping them get an item packaged is not worth his time, and good luck trying to get a shipping quote. I was obviously going to be using you to ship, I needed to know how much to charge my customer first. It's sad when I'd rather deal with the cheerful bunch over at the regular post office before I ever decide to go back to this place.
As you can see by his response, that is the type of person you can expect to deal with... A new shipping center opened up on Higley and University in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Friendly staff that actually cares about their business.

Needed a computer monitor wrapped and mailed. The first place I went to wanted $40, but Eli charged $10. Great customer service!!

Brought in a decent sized heavy item to ship after I was quoted an astronomical amount at an ups store. The owner Chris took care of me and cut the other quoted price in half. Item arrived on time undamaged and saved money with ELI. Best place to ship I will be using this store again.

Chris and staff are excellent. Always willing to help and go far beyond what your standard ship center has to offer. They are incredibly hard working which is hard to see in a business these days and have earned my respect. They are truly a light in the community, a great small business that deserves the support of Arizonans everywhere.

I ship alot of fragile, difficult things to pack. Things made by hand that simply cannot be repurchased or repaired.
This is the most helpful, most economical shipping company I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. I could not find anyone that beats their prices, or their customer service skills!
They will completely package what you need sent, and believe me they know what they're doing.
I have had zero problems, of ANY kind.

Rude, 1 time is too much, but 3 times now and we've watched it happen to others. I'm sure from looking at other reviews, there will be a rude follow up comment from the store ... point made.

Worse employee ever. I have used this store many times and have always had a good experience. The store was always clean and the employees very helpful. I needed to ship a package that was 47 inches long and after talking to one very helpful employee I decided on a box that was 8x8x48. I took the box home and loaded it and it seemed to be perfect. I needed to place an envelope in the box with return postage because the same box was going to be shipped back to me. I went to the store and asked another very helpful employee what the shipping cost was for this 8x8x48 box that weighted 5lbs. I was quoted a price of $40. I went home and loaded the box. I made no alterations to the box and took it to the store. The employee that helped me added some paper and then closed the box. The box was not extended in any way. He then remeasured the box and calculated the shipping cost at $75. When I told him that I was just quoted a cost of $40 thirty minutes ago, he told me the box was over 48 inches long. I asked him why would they sell me a box that measures 8x8x48 but after he closed it up it was over 48 inches and $35 dollars more. This box was not over loaded in any way. That is when he turned his back on me and told the young lady working with him that "it was to late to closing to be arguing with this guy" and then walked out the door. The young lady helped me cut down the package so it could be shipped under 48 inches. The guy walks back in the store to help other customers so when I left I confronted the guy and told him I wasn't arguing with him, I was wanting him to explain why I was sold a 8x8x48 inch box if it was 8x8x48. He then told me it was because of my tone when I asked him. I have read some other reviews and it seems others have had similar experiences. If he is the owner I feel sorry for other customers and the employees. If this guy gets so rattled that he needs to leave because a customer asks him questions he should not be trusted to run the store. If he treats the customers that way I can only imaging how he treats his employees. And I never even raised my voice to this poor guy. I don't want to give a poor review of the store or other employees that work there, but this guy could hurt your business. I was there 01/15/24 at just before closing. I will give it two stars just in case the guy was having a bad day and it was close to closing. My question to this guy is if they sold me a box that was 8x8x48 and it wasn't altered in ANY way, why would he say it was 48.5 inches? There was no way it was longer than that. the flaps folded flat to the top of the box, there was no crown to it. Does the shipping company also measure the box and would they send the box back if it was an unaltered box that measured 8x8x48? Maybe you should measure your whole stock of 8x8x48 boxes and see if the are all a half inch over. That way you could tell customers it may measure 8x8x48 but you will get charged for a larger container.

The best place to go for shipping! Owned and operated by a small business local owner! Extremely nice people! Clean place and they compare costs right on the computer for you to see. I ship fresh oranges to out of state friends and they always find me the best rates! Thank you!

I've had a mailbox here for well over a year, and I had one of the WORST experiences ever. The owner is a bully, aggressive and argumentative. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I had a package shipped to New Orleans for work. It was to be there on a Monday morning at the latest. It was delayed multiple times and arrived Tuesday evening and I was unable to use it. I contacted UPS about a refund, they said to contact the shipper... which was Eli's Shipping. I talked with the front end staff about what happened and Eli came out quickly and was obviously irritated. His voice was raised and he was aggressive. He said UPS would just say no refund on delays. He added, almost yelling... "I'm telling you this to your face." I had brought up an issue six months ago about mail I didn't receive. Even then he was aggressive, saying "It's a US Postal Service Problem" and how they're "Out to get the little guys." Back to this one. He continued to raise his voice. I asked "You're not willing to even try" to which he ranted about his time being valuable, again raised voice, and something to the effect of "Wouldn't you say my time is valuable?" He was now 3/4 of the way over the counter towards me. He almost yelled: "I know this so well that I'm willing to risk your business!" I told him he had. He slammed his finger on the computer mouse - aggressively blurting "Done!" I asked for a prorated refund as I'd only used two months on my payment for year two He belligerently said, "Nope, it's in your contract." He repeated that as if "I've got ya." No body, let alone a customer, deserves to be treated in the manner Eli, the owner of this business, did.

This is a great "mom and pop" operation rather than the corporate owned postal businesses. The individuals at Shipping by ELI tailor the shipping needs by cost, time, etc. I appreciate their counsel and great customer experience. Please note that the phone number listed on Yelp is incorrect and needs to be corrected.

I have been going to Eli's shipping for the last 6 years, and they have always provided great service. I do not understand these negative reviews. I have NEVER witnessed employees being mistreated, nor have they ever been rude to me. I would rather go to this small business than the Post Office. I was there on 12/18/2023 only to purchase a stamp they had a line to the door with customers trying to mail Christmas packages, and I was in and out pretty quick. Keep up your great customer service!

We have had the box at Shipping By Eli for about a year. The Owner needs to sell this business and go find something else to do with his time. Customer service isn't one of those. He's a grouch and a bully. I have several packages a week and a lot of company mail delivered there every week. I have witnessed the owner getting very aggressive and verbally abusive with several customers many elderly, including me. I own and operate several businesses and am in there picking up my mail almost daily. I went in November 2023 to pick up my mail and the line was out the door. When it was finally my turn I asked the man helping me (he said he was the owner) if there was a way I could pick up my mail quicker, since I'm in there every day, his response was " find another place to get your mail, close your box". I was floored that the owner would talk to me that way. I responded that I used to like this place. I was in there yesterday 12/18/23, same thing again, a line to the door. After I waited in line for my turn the young employee went to the back and retrieved my package, I asked if I had any mail he said no, there was mail back there but they were too busy to sort it. I said I was expecting some checks and could he look ? He came out with a stack of mail and was looking through it for my mail. The owner almost ran across the room and grabbed it from him then said you'lI have to come back later. It was 4:00 pm. I told him I don't have time to come back later and wait in the line again. He just looked away and started to help the guy behind me. DO NOT OPEN A NON REFUNDABLE BOX OR DO ANY KIND OF SHIPPING WITH THIS JERK, there are other shipping companies that won't abuse you or your grandmother. I will close my box when it is up for renewal.

I went in this afternoon (12/12/23) during my work lunch break to get a package shipped in time for Christmas. Today was my first trip to the store. I don’t ship boxes often and I was having difficulty trying to figure out what size of box to get. My stress level was totally going up because of my limited time and I just couldn’t seem to figure it out. An excellent staff member noticed the trouble I was having and offered help from the counter. In a span of about ten minutes, the staff member helped me get the correct size box, packed the items for me, and got the shipping labels printed and my box was on the way. I was impressed with the helpful and kind service I received especially during this busy time of year for shipping. I will come back for any future box shipping and would recommend it to others as well.

They treat every customer with respect and act like they are glad you are a customer. They work FAST! I love that they price compare with all the available shippers is USPS, UPS, etc and offer to you which carrier is the lowest price for when you want your package to arrive. I have always experienced GREAT Customer Service.
