Today, Feb 6 2024, I saw the staff help a gentleman in distress. They treated him with the kindest hearts, leaving him with his dignity.

October 2023 by Belinda Jarema
On October 3, I purchased very nice leather sofa at Purple Heart Thrift in Mesa . Delivery was set up for October 5. Delivery was on time, but unfortunately, the sofa would not go through my patio door. One of the driver said he could take the doors off to get the couch in. He removed brackets on the stationary side of the door and pulled on the frame which caused the seal to come loose from the glass. At this point, he stated they only had 20 minutes to deliver at each address and offered to come back after work to remove the doors and move the couch into the house. After inspecting the door when they left, I realized that removing them was not going to work. The door was visibly damaged where the seal was pulled off. I called the delivery driver and let him know that I feared the door would break if they continue to mess with it. I then went into the store in Mesa and spoke with a woman manager and the district manager, Randy. Randy assured me that the drivers were not allowed to remove doors or move anything else to deliver the furniture. He said his boss would have a contractor come out and fix my door. On Friday two men in a box truck with no company information on it showed up to fix my door. I questioned them in about what company they worked for and if they were insured. While I was questioning them, one of them was pulling on the seal around the glass, pulling it further off. The glass had already slid down into the lower part of the frame on one side. I couldn’t get an answer out of them, and finally after asking again who employed them, and if they have insurance, one of the men asked me if I wanted the door fixed or not. I told them I did not unless they could supply me with the information of their employment and proof of insurance. They were visibly getting upset with my question and just said come on let’s go we’re done with this. I immediately called Purple Heart Mesa store and spoke with Randy again. I was told that his boss said he was done with the problem and wasn’t sending anyone else out. He also told me the two men that came to fix my door, work for Joe Doty , who I assume is the owner. I asked Randy to have his boss call me, but I’ve never received a phone call. Purple hearts thrift store is responsible for breaking my door and need to send a licensed contractor to my home to fix or replace my door.

Very clean inside, the staff is very friendly as well. All items are priced great except the clothes. Clothing was priced too high for a thrift shop. Aside from that I highly recommend stopping by.
