Love the service every time I had a master stylist, which is a little price here, but it is worth it, but in the end, all of the stylists learn under the masters, so you’re gonna get the best service it is, is worth every single penny. I stand by this salon and his company.

I had a great experience at Distinctive! I called and made a last minute appointment for a long women's cut and they were able to accommodate me on a Sunday afternoon. Eva cut my hair and did the most spectacular job! I came in with a VERY uneven botched cut and she took so much time to meticulously check that everything was evened out and looked nice. She managed to even everything out while saving a lot more length than I expected. She gave the best head massage with a warm towel during my shampoo and also took time to teach me how to style my new curtain bangs with the right technique and tools. The salon itself is clean and cozy, but Eva is the real gem

I've been going here for about 5 years and have only seen joel molenaar and every time I leave satisfied he always makes sure your happy with your hair, he makes sure he understands what you want done and always achieves the look your going for, if your considering this place try going to joel molenaat he is a master stylist and deserves they title he deserves all 5 stats he is great.

I had my hair cut and styled by Brittany and she did an amazing job. She really took her time and cut according to my hair type. The salon personnel were all very friendly. Would highly recommend!

Today was my first visit. Joel did a great job on my short hair. But I'm still reeling over the $95 charge for a hair cut & blow dry. My hair is quite short. Just can not find any justification for that cost. Wow!

This business should not be called a spa. It is a hair salon. I went for brow and lip wax was taken to the shampoo area in the far back corner, towel under my neck for comfort “not” then the technician waxed me, while all the other clients were rinsed out or shampooed next to me. I commented that it must be difficult to see in the low light, that they should provide her with a magnifier light. The result missing part of one eyebrow which was even difficult to see in the low light. Had to tweeze at home to try to get all the stray hairs left behind. So a little context, I significantly chopped all my hair off a couple months ago into a pixie cut and have had a hard time finding a short-hair stylist in Mesa.. but I can confidently say that I have now found an amazing stylist perfect for working with my hair type and style. Joel is definitely a specialist in hair and should be considered if you're looking for a experienced stylist!! Thanks again!!

I highly recommend Distinctive Salon and Spa in East Mesa. Joel Molenaar is the best of the best, and most creative stylist. I have been using him as my stylist for over 20 years. The Aveda extensive product line will enhightened all of your senses. I love the enriched conditioning color treatments. My favorite part is the essential oil aromas and scalp massage. They also have fabulous relaxation Himalayan Spa room and offer facial/massage treatments, which I love.
