Apologies for the confusion. I had a pleasant time here. It was supposed to be a four-star review not a one-star review.

I have been happy with prior child programs. I enrolled my son into basketball and they are unable to find a volunteer coach, we do not have any schedule which is extremely discouraging with multiple kids in multiple activities. Now, I find out that the costs are non-refundable if I have conflicting schedules despite their inability to secure a date/time. For the same amount of money, I would suggest using a more organized recreation program.

Very good friendly staff. I came here to be in a swim team, they have cheap snacks in the vending machine.

i grew up swimming for this swim team and it is disappointing to see how racially preferenced the lifeguard staff is, specifically the head coordinator jenna. not only do lifeguard lessons cost over 100, but she doesn’t even give people of color a chance to be a lifeguard, and if so they are a lighter color and only 1 spot available. notice how almost the whole staff is white and during applications never hires a single black person… just something to keep in mind when you apply that you can never win in litchfield park if you are of color.

It has been an enjoyable summer again at the Litchfield Park Recreation Center. They make signing up for swimming lessons for our girls so easy unlike the city we live in. I can get them in the same class at the same time as long as they are swimming at the same level. Our girls have been in the water their entire lives as we have a pool. Even so last year they didn't like being splashed or getting their faces wet. This year they are getting their faces wet and they have our little one swimming down to the bottom of the pool to pick up rings. The both are able to float on their backs for 30 seconds. They do a fabulous job here. This year their teachers are Mr. Kyle and Miss. Ella. and Miss. Liz. They had Miss. Ella last year and adore her. Mr. Kyle and Miss. Liz do a great job as well. They missed Mr. Cooper this year. Our girls are late bloomers as swimmers, but even if they swam like fish they would never be alone by a pool or unsupervised. Not being pros at their age does not concern me. They are amazing and doing great. Everyone has their special gifts. They are getting better every week. The recreation center will notify you if lessons are canceled due to weather. They don't do lessons if lightening is within 10 miles. They will call, email and post on their Facebook page if they need to cancel. The gal who runs the office is a sweetie. We definately will be back next year. I wear a lot of hats and I think it is a treat for them to have others to guide and teach them.

Hot for the Heat/High Temps/111°. However watching these young people do their jobs teaching these kids to swim and water safety, was a joy. Took away all thoughts of the hot weather. #swiminstructors #lifeguards #studentswimmers YAY!!!

Nice area and environment. Has a 6 and under pool. Changing area could be a little better of a set up. But over all not bad.

Love this place we have been going here for years going swimming in the pool and they have tennis courts and basketball courts. So, nice place to take your family to go swimming I've taken my granddaughter at least six or seven times this summer. Anytime we have friends or relatives in we go there as well. The only thing is, it closes in September Labor Day is their last weekend and they don't open up until April. You would think because in September it's still in the hundreds here in the Phoenix area that they might keep the pool open, but they can't, because the kids go back to school the college kids henceforth they have no more lifeguards. I know they could hire people in their 30s 40s or even retired people like myself who were lifeguards many years ago and have their Red Cross certification. Heck I would do it in a heartbeat...

Very wonderful place to bring the whole family. The pool is very nice and big. Plus every lifeguard and employee in the main office is very nice. There is also a spa, kiddie pool, weight room, and other amenities available.
