Had the best time staying here. The hotel is perfectly located next to the rim… an 8 minute walk to the edge. The rooms were comfortable and well appointed. The shining star was the front desk. Everyone was super helpful with amazing tips and inside scoops. Beau at the front desk is a gem went WAY ABOVE AND BEYOND with pointers on how to get a table at the El Tovar and which view points were best for sunrise, sunset and full moon skyscapes. A super happy camper!!!

Very clean rooms with a good proximity to the Rim trail, shuttle and other lodges. The buildings are not close enough to the Canyon to be able to see anything but for the very reasonable price this is a very good deal overall. One of the great positives was that the area is very quiet and comfortable. The buildings were built between 1970s and the early eighties so a bit dated but honestly it was a great relief to be here after a week in Las Vegas. I would definitely come back in the future and highly recommend this lodging to anyone.

Nice hotel room in a perfect location. It is right in the park so you can walk everywhere you like or a quick bus ride all over.

One of the best lodges within the Grand Canyon National park. A central place to cover various viewpoints on the South Rim.In-house cafe food is delicious.Family friendly.

I only marked service down to a 4 because only one person was willing to go above and beyond. He was amazing. All others seemed more focused on each other than on helping us.The location is excellent! It is a 10-minute walk to the rim, and it has a trail the whole way. The rooms were nice and very clean.

Rooms: The heating in the room is a bit noisy and turns on about every 20 minutes.Nearby activities: The nearby attractions are very close. This is the best advantage.

Based on the reviews I was expecting something dumpy but for the price and location, this was a great place for a short stay in the park. The beds are nice and they done the best to renovate around an old bldg. It's close to the food court. Wifi is strong. Rooms are large.

Cute room, with a balcony, wonderful beds and amazing pillows! Towels stocked for 4 people with the room we had, small coffee pot and fridge in room located in the national park for the Grand Canyon. A perfect place to start and end your day!

Nice place to stay in the Grand Canyon. Lots of building and room options. The main building has a food court with a diverse menu, from pizza to salad to barbecue and vegan options. The room we stayed in was nice enough especially being in the park. The bathroom was recently remodeled, they did a good job, not just a patch job. They have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion in the shower and at the vanity. The parking is close to the rooms. Elk and deer at your doorstep. Overall, enjoyable and satisfying. Again, it's in the park so you can't get any better without camping it.

Excellent location. Food is limited as it is inside the village but very close to shuttles. Go off-season when you can drive into every shuttle stop. If you can walk stairs, be sure to stay above or on top floor. Can be very noisy if upstairs people are walking around. Very early risers at the canyon.

My stay was enjoyable, and the proximity to the canyon is unbeatable. Overall, it's an amazing location. My only two complaints are that the bed feels like it is a piece of plywood with a sheet on it. But so do most hotel beds. My main complaint is the check-in process. The lady who checked us in was rude and unhelpful. The two employees next to her checked in two guests in the time it took her to check us in. Then her handwriting was so bad we could not read our room number so we had to try several rooms before finding ours.Rooms: The rooms are spacious l.Walkability: All the restaurants and the canyon are a short walk away.

We were VERY pleasantly surprised by our room at Maswik Lodge SOUTH. It feels brand new. It IS brand new, opened June 2022. It was roomy, more stylish than expected, and the sound insulation seemed very good. Really never heard our neighbors. Fridge and single-cup coffee maker in the room. Towels were plush. Bedding was very nice and the mattress very comfortable. Lots of lighting options. Good flow of water in the shower. No odd smells (like off-gassing of new products or stale air). Loved the little balcony for relaxing after a long day of hiking or sight-seeing. The front desk was a mixed bag - some awesome staff members, some a little more indifferent. Nobody was rude though. Don't plan on doing much work if you are a remote worker. Wifi internet was so incredibly slow that it took my husband about 2 hours to do 25 minutes of work every day. We never had trouble with parking, though be aware, there is no assigned parking for hotel guests, so any park visitor can park in any lot. We were lucky enough to park our car on day 1 and walked or took the shuttle everywhere for the 4 days we stayed. The Maswik Food Court was a short walk. Bright Angel Trail was about an 8-10 minute walk. El-Tovar about a 12-15 minute walk. Highly recommend a stay here. Maswik Lodge North has not yet undergone renovation as far as I can tell, but still looks fine, maybe not quite as updated as South. Highly recommend a stay here.Nearby activities: An easy 10-minute walk to the Red Shuttle to the west end rim lookouts. The Blue (Village) Shuttle is just outside the reception area, but since it only goes one way, it was easier to walk to most destinations in the village. The main Visitor Center is pretty far, worth the shuttle ride. Then walk the Rim Trail all the way back to the village for a wonderful experience.

Terrible experience. Check in was at 4pm, took them over an hour to check us in then put us in a 50 year old building (renovated maybe 20 years ago), surrounded by construction hazards, that was over a 1/4 mile away from the main lodge, the furthest one away. And no street lights at all, anyone walking to their room in evening or after sunset does it in pitch darkness. You have to depend on your flashlight just to walk back to your room. Because of this my wife tripped and fell and skinned her knee (lawsuit pending). The gift store is grossly overpriced and staffed by a rude old Indian woman who complete ignored me, finally rang me up but it was very inconvenient for her. Kinda the standard attitude for most of the The food court was nice, good selections, the taco salad is generous and priced reasonably but the amount you get depends on the servers mood. The Fred Harvey Restaurant was ok (overpriced at $27/person) great atmosphere, live entertainment, great tender roast beef, buttered asparagus spears, cauliflower etc.great but the Fish, spare ribs and artichoke potatoes all way over cooked, all burnt. The layout of the salad bar was bizarre. Everyone started at opposite ends and met in the middle at the dressings. And since when do you start with croutons??? And desserts are a secret. Not posted anywhere but your server will probably mention their availability at the end of your meal.Rooms: Need remodeling.Safety: Dangerous at night.Noteworthy details: Staff needs to work on their "hospitality" skills. We are not interrupting you, we pay your salary so act grateful and smile and be eager to help.
