The room and service is ok. But the main reason to stay is the location bordering the canyon rim. We had a great stay as all the sights were easily

My husband and I had an amazing view of the canyon out of our rooms window.

information1. The elevator is hidden2. It’s a wooden house, so it’s creaky.3. I made a reservation for the 2nd floor view, but they gave me the 1st floor, so I should have asked again.4. They said they would provide hot water, but I couldn’t find it.5. Failure to heat Hetbahn6. Parking on the side of the road as there is no parking space late at night.Good location, good view, comfortable bedding

We spent over $500 for two nights at the kachina lodge with absolutely no parking set aside for guests. Beware that parking is on a first come first serve basis for the entire park, regardless of if you paid for accommodations. My husband and I had to wait hours for a spot near our lodge so that we didn’t have to hike up the hill with heavy luggage and bags. My husband asked to speak with the manager, Janie, three separate times and she refused to come out and speak with us. The poor front desk employee had to stand there in her defense as the manager would not come out to rectify the situation. We spent a lot of money to be told we had no parking. Next time, we will not waste our money to stay on site. Accommodation parking rules need to be reformed.

We stayed one night at Kachina and moved to Bright Angel next day. They had given one hour late checkout (12pm). But when we returned to our room the luggage (2 bags) was gone. They said it was moved to Bright Angel and we couldnt checkin until 4pm. We had our medicines in them. When we asked for the bags they brought one and said other was in the room. When we went into the room the luggage (second bag) was missing. Instead of enjoying the park we were running after our luggage. They finally delivered the luggage. Appreciate those who helped but those tense moments and wasted time cant be returned.Walkability: Right next to the rim.

With this hotel located right on the South Rim of Grand canyon, you can't get any closer to this amazing national park. The rooms are clean and reasonable size (considering where it is). Service is good!

Great location right next to the rim. Everything is a bit out of date, breakfast is not good (long waits, bad food, second day power outage so no hot food).

It was a mixed experience. I booked through expedia and they said check-in time was 3pm. It's hard to coordinate flights and drivetime to make sure I get that at just the right time, but I did. I arrived at 320pm and the room still wasn't ready, turns out checkin time is 4pm!Parking is a nightmare! It was impossible to find something, and when I finally did (very far from the lodge) the free bus they give you doesn't let you take your luggage on!!When I FINALLY managed to get to the room, it was alright. However, the body wash was in the soap dispenser, there was no microwave, and the A/C didn't seem to work very well.Additionally, the park itself was expensive! With no microwave or any way to heat up food at this lodge you were forced to pay ridiculous prices just to get something warm and the food wasn't even that good. It's extortion just like stadiums/festivals/etc. The price of the lodge should've been sufficient to at least provide a microwave. All that said, the park itself was great!

View was spectacular!!! Could have spent our whole trip sitting in the hotel watching the view! The downside: there is no lobby on the premises. We didnt know that check-in was at El Tovar. My 75 year old father and I were pushing our luggage all the way around the hotel trying to find a way in (we came by train)... before we figured out that we needed to go next door to check in. Also, there is no daily housekeeping so we needed to go back to El Tovar to get coffee refills. Finallt, we needed to trek back to El Tovar to leave our bags on the final day since check-out was 4 hours before our train left. The best thing, aside from our room view, was sitting on the El Tovar porch swing for a few hours on our final day and watching people walk by... but you dont need to pay for a hotel room to do that!

Gorgeous views of the Grand Canyon! It also reminded me of small school room with the cinder block walls.

Location can't be better . The building , the room !!! What a dump ! Stay here if you don't mind staying in the oldest College Dorm that smells like you grandmothers basement !! Place need el be flattened down and do something that is worth the ripoff price they are charging for this dump ! Thanks me later ! The drive from outside the park is not bad at allll ! Rather stay out and come visit in ! Never again!

The location is definitely a 10/10. The hotel is definitely a 1/10. At first, they gave us a dirty and smelly room bathtub, which was dirty with long hair, the room itself smelled, like urine. At first, they didn't want to give us a different room, then they changed their mind. Once we moved the other room, it was ok till one of the house kipper almost tried to break in the room without knocking. My husband was in the restroom. I was taking a nap. I thought someone was trying to harm us. First and last time for us. I don't recommend it, and it's definitely not worth the price.Rooms: The room was dirty and smelled like urine.

Location can't be beat! On the south rim, and close to the changing bus stop to go to Hermit's Rest. Inconvenient checking in/out at El Tovar though. There were 2 people standing in line and 3 staff members at the counter and no one acknowledged us for a few minutes, not sure why. No designated parking, so get your friend/partner to drop off/pick up the luggage first. Stairs only, so be prepared to bring your luggage up yourself. It's along the blue bus line.

THE VIEW!! The view from our room was listed as partial view but we could see the canyon from our bed. The parking situation was so bad. We were very lucky a nice couple was leaving as we were pulling up to check in and waved us down to take their spot or I imagine we would have never found something. I wish the parking at El Tovar and Kachina was for resort guests only but it is open for all visitors. The room itself was basic and the bed was comfortable. I would stay again. Photo attached is the view from our room.
