This is my second attempt at writing an honest review of my experience at this service department. My first review resulted in a 6 pm screaming match phone call with the service department manager, Derrick. He offered a new battery, but I declined because I was really worried about a confrontation if I came back.I called at 8 am on Monday morning to get a quote on having the spark plugs and wires replaced on a 2011 SS Camaro with 80k miles because it's due and on my list of things to have done. I also mentioned it was having a slight hard start, so I assumed it would be the plugs or battery. This was my own process of elimination while addressing the plug maintenance.Derrick Phillips advised me not to "just throw a set of plugs in it" and instead let him diagnose it. I immediately felt this was a sales tactic to get a diagnosis fee, but he never once mentioned it. He also advised me to drop the car off and get a complimentary Lyft ride home as the wait would be about 3 hours. However, I also assumed this was a sales tactic to keep my vehicle overnight and perform unnecessary expensive repairs when I simply wanted a quote for the spark plugs and wire replacement. I declined the ride and waited for 5 hours right up until closing just to get an estimate for $11,408.91 of other things he suggested I replace, or have the battery replaced for $570.02 to resolve the minor start issue I was attempting to take care of.I declined everything as I felt my request was ignored. Instead of just quoting me for the plugs, I got a quote for nearly $12,000 in recommended repairs that didn't even include my original maintenance request. On top of this, the price of replacing the battery was so grossly overpriced that I no longer felt like I could trust anything he said. I was pretty mad about the whole experience and just paid the $207 diagnosis fee and left a 1-star review, only to have Derrick, the manager, call me and turn the conversation into a screaming match until I agreed to remove the review and come get a new battery the next day.I avoid auto repair places because of the negative connotation of being taken advantage of. I chose to take my car here based on an experience I had with Jerry Moore, Sands co-owner, years ago, but it turned into the worst auto repair experience I've ever had.

Where do I start? I reached out to Sands regarding a used truck which stated it has approximately 33k miles on it. Upon review of the photos, the odometer stated it had approximately 16k miles on it. I began working with Rafael via text who simply stated "my pictures display 16,905." I'm well aware of what the photos show, how about an actual, physical confirmation? He then asked for photos of my trade-in and texted back with a low figure on my trade. That is perfectly fine, every dealership is different and while I disagree with the value they gave me, I understand it. I respond with "OK I appreciate the offer, I am going to keep shopping." I then get a response of "please do" and "it wasn't an offer sir that's the lending value." I thought about leaving it alone but I don't take kindly to rude and snarky comments. No texts thereafter from either party were out of line, until he felt the need to say "my truck is out of your price range." Neither him, nor Sands, has any clue what my price range is. This dealership needs to teach their sales folks better customer service. We can agree to disagree, but the rude responses are unnecessary. Needless to say, I won't consider buying a vehicle from Sands in the future.

I experienced sexual harassment from Joseph when I went in to cancel my gap insurance. Not only did he encourage a staff member to allow me to provide wrong information so that I had to come back and redo the form, he then berated me and yelled at me to "get my life" in the presence of many people as I walked out. There's a difference between a customer being frustrated and a customer intentionally insulting a staff member. When a customer is frustrated from poor customer service, Joseph will infantilize them and try to control the way they speak. I won't be back to Sands for anything ever. Disgusting.

Melissa in the service department is absolutely amazing! I was sold a lemon from Carvana that within 30 days of having needed over 10k of repairs. She was the only person on my side and keeping me in the loop of what was happening. She listens and understands. She made sure I was in a safe vehicle before I got back in it. To Melissa and the staff at Sands, thank you! I appreciate all your efforts and time. You're a rockstar

We recently purchased a new 2023 commercial truck. First the salesperson Louis took our information and messed up the documents for the title. This caused 2 hard inquiries on my credit. Then we ordered a cover and the salesperson told us installation should be in a month taking 1 day. Well it's now been almost 2 months and still no cover. Now the install company is telling us 3 days for the install. Since we live out of town we now have to get hotel accommodations and leave the vehicle for 3 days. Dealership has not stepped up to take care of us in anyway. So we are now not able to use our new truck for our company and we are out of pocket for the hotel stay and loss of work. Very poor customer service from this dealership For a new purchase of a $90,000 vehicle.

We love Derrick Phillips, who is a service advisor here at this Sands Chevrolet dealer. My husband Mike has a 2018 Silverado, and I have a 2011 Cruze. Derrick always finds us coupons and discounts to help with the costs. He also makes sure that we're satisfied with our repairs. Twice recently, my Cruze had to be returned to the shop because the repairs were not done to my satisfaction. Derrick went above and beyond to make sure I was happy at no additional cost to me. We highly recommend Derrick at Sands for your service needs.

My daughter and son in law went into buy a vehicle and they were mislead by the salesman. I was going to co-sign for them to improve their interest rate, but in the end, they ended up leaving with the vehicle without signing ANY paperwork and everything coming to me as if I was buying the car...and I wasn't even there. The rest of the buying process, all the way to the final signature, was just as chaotic.

Stay away from this scam dealership! Took our $5k down payment and sold us a car that was already sold to another customer.I was using the Chevrolet website to locate a dealership to purchase a car I have been looking at for a while and unfortunately came across Sands Chevrolet. We "purchased" a 2023 Chevy Bolt EUV LT at this dealership on Sunday 01/08/2023. The salesman Luis Castillo showed us that the car was indeed physically there but were not allowed to access it or test drive it. We test drove a similar vehicle instead. Throughout the process I confirmed that the vehicle was available for sale and that we would be able to pick it up a few days after the purchase. We went through the entire loan application process, they also had us open a credit card as another purchase incentive. For some reason they also brought us over to their insurance sales person and gave us a quote we didn't ask for. We spent around 4 hours at this dealership to go through the entire purchase process.Skip to today 01/11/2023. I called around 1pm to confirm that the car was ready to be picked up and was told it was being detailed and it would be ready around 4pm. I receive another call at 2pm from someone named Chris Sollars who told me that the car that we purchased on Sunday was actually already purchased and we would not be able to come get it. He told me that their dealership has no way to tell if a car is available for sale on the weekends and that they sold the car to us by mistake. You would think that the weekends would be their busiest time and there would be a process in place to prevent this from happening but apparently there is not. I have asked to speak to the dealership manager and was told they are not available. I asked to be called back and haven't heard back from the dealership management. We now have a credit card we do not want, wasted half a day at the dealership, credit it dinged from the inquiry for the loan, and we are awaiting our $5k refund.Stay away from this dealership if you value your time, sanity, and money.

Went in for an oil change on a 2019 equinox. Asked ahead of time to get a quote for the sunroof screen falling off the track(? Cheap Chevy!) They acted like it was the biggest deal because it was busy then forgot. Then they quoted $100 to reattach (no parts just labor) or $800 fire a new motor. I put it back together in 2 minutes there's just some slack in the canvas now... We thought they could fix it for free...This should've been under warranty instead we left feeling like the dealer was scamming customers and should not be trusted. We won't be back. They joined Midway and AutoNation of Chevrolet dealers to avoid.

I just waited 3 months for a Chevy bolt and had confirmation they would honor the $5,900 consumer cash just to be told the week before arrival that by the time my vehicle would arrive, my sale would no longer qualify for the rebate. I got completely baited and these guys are super shady. Also. Seems real convenient the week of my arrival put me outside of the rebate. Thanks for being totally dishonest, Tyler. Avoid that guy if you folks have to buy from them.
