I just had the worse experience at this Safeway, I first want to acknowledge and say thank you to what seemed one of the managers who is Latino. I didn’t take his name which I regret.
A manager named Luciano is one of the many racist individuals I have encounter while living in Arizona for 13years. A handicap woman with two teenage girls. I heard yelling and came over and the manager on duty Luciano was asking a minor god you scan that oh how about that. But yet was not doing the same to the other customers. So naturally the lady was upset and frustrated that this man was only picking on her because she is a black woman. I came over to talk to her and tell her that these people are not worth her coming out of character she is better than this but I can understand the frustration.
The manager followed her and continued to be on the phone antagonizing the customer and her daughters. A male customer was talking so disrespect to a 15 year old and a woman being disrespectful to both children.
This manager luciano needs to be fired as well as your deli and baker clerks. Who o have read are also rude and disgusting.
The manager then followed the customer into the parking lot I explained he should not be starting a situation and needs to go inside he was escalating the situation. This could have ended badly. Thank you to the Hispanic gentleman who helped her and was trying to diffuse the situation.
Anyone reading this needs to stay clear and time to cancel this location or get a new crew.

Love shopping here but after my experience today I will no longer be back. I was accused of skip scanning because I was scanning my items fast. After they check all the items where on the screen they stood quite. The faster I can get out the store the better. It’s not easy shopping with a 2 yr old. Plus the older lady at the deli was very rude didn’t want to help us out told us the deli was closed that all the lights were off but we saw them all on. Told her we only wanted chicken but she didn’t want to serve us. She kept saying but it’s cold you sure you want it. Told her I didn’t care I would heat it up at home so she gave us an attitude.

Older lady with Grey hair in the deli dept. didn't look like she knew what was going on or what she was doing, didn't put gloves on, nor wash her hands she used some prongs to pick the chicken up and the prongs were on a trashcan lid... never again will I go there ... took place 3:50 to 4 pm 04/15/2024

I LOVE this Safeway! Never had a bad experience and have been shopping there for over 20 years. Hunter is absolutely awesome! I have had his as a checker and now curbside. LOVE Safeway's curbside system been using it for over a year now, since I am on oxygen. Don't change anything! Store and staff are GREAT!
Please don't merge with Kroger!

Went in for a birthday cake for my daughter, this old guy named Mike working self-checkout came up to scan some white claw alcohol drinks for the party, my husband was with me and did not bring his wallet, he is 38 years old, with a beard, and wrinkles. By no means is he under 30. This old guy Mike refuses to sell me alcohol based on my 38 year old husband not having identification, but then when my husband brought up we had a child with us as well, and he did not ask the CHILD who was CLEARLY underaged for the identification is stupid. Why bother carding obvious adults. If you don’t care how old the children are. And this is common sense, not abusing system, system being used to bother people. Shame on you Safeway

We typically have a very good experience at this Safeway, but from now on we'll drive a little further to Fry's because of Larsa, a cashier. She is one of the most unprofessional and unkind employees we've ever encountered in a retail setting. I hope that management will prioritize some reeducation for this employee on how to treat guests and provide better customer service. Her demeanor and behavior are truly unfortunate.

Had some issues at the bakery...I waited 10 minutes then called the Safeway bakery, waited on hold while I heard them call for help at the bakery over the loud speaker 4 times before someone who did not work in the bakery finally arrived to try and help me. Obviously he was not equipped to write on the birthday cake, but he was able to fetch it for me. I'm assuming for now, that this is not the norm.

Truly one of the worst Safeways to shop. I considered giving 2 stars due to their produce and meat usually being decent, but the service is really that bad that I cannot justify it. If you do an online order to pick up, and even if you select don't substitute, they'll fully ignore that and substitute out of stock items with ridiculously expensive items. I've made multiple pickup orders in which they attempt to substitute items I ordered for items that raise the total cost of the order at least $30-$40. This last time they substituted items that raised the total cost almost $100 over what my original total was. This is eye gouging. It's just unacceptable.

We’ve lived in the neighborhood for over 20 years and have shopped at Safeway for much of that time. The produce at this store is just not of reasonable quality. We’ve bought bags of potatoes and onions that are bad when you get home. The avocados are seemingly always unevenly ripe. I just don’t trust produce from this store - especially with several better options within a few miles
