I've had an excellent experience with ABD Antique Appraisers. Elizabeth and Mark are friendly and knowledgeable, and they've been very accommodating. They even made a road trip out to Wickenburg for a day of sorting and selecting. I highly recommend their services.

My wife and I were in their store this past Saturday April 8, 2023 in the afternoon and I was looking for a hanging wall cabinet to hold about 30 or so 1/2 dolls ( very expensive collection) I spoke to Elizabeth Dory. I have called back now 4 times starting on Monday April 9th and Tues April 10th and left voice mail messages, I haven't received a call back as yet. I then received a call back on Wednesday the 11th from Elizabeth and she apologized and said they were very busy doing an Estate Sale. I thanked her for her help at her store. She's a wonderful person to do business with & I highly recommend her. Extremely knowledgeable in many facets!

I attend several estate sales each year, and the sale I attended in Glendale that was put on by this company had to be one of the worst ones I have ever been to. Poorly organized, many, many items not priced and only one person was authorized to give out prices - she was constantly busy. The items that were priced were way over priced for an estate sale; they were priced almost as if it were a high end antique store. There was only one cashier and she was slow, slow, slow and somewhat rude. Luckily, there are several quality estate sale companies in this area and I'll be sticking with them.

We hired for an evaluation of many antiques after my mom’s passing. A lot of antiques since she was a collector and former antique store owner. She is a certified appraiser and was very thorough taking pictures and researching current prices. Well put together appraisal report.

Terrible experience! I took in several pieces of art to be 'appraised' by her. She took no notes, no measurements but snapped a couple of pictures. I paid her up front, as is her requirement - note to self - I won't EVER do that again. Reputable appraisers get paid after their research is completed and the report is in your hand. She told me she would 'get back to me' with her findings. After 3 weeks, I texted her to ask about progress. She told me she was still conferring with colleagues and would 'get back to me'. Two more weeks go by and I heard nothing from her. I reached out again, and again she told me she was waiting to hear from colleagues. Enough! I said, and began looking for another appraiser. The one I found turned out to be spectacular! He came to my house so I didn't have to lug my art anywhere. He was totally professional in every aspect. He took measurements, photos and lots of notes. He showed me an example of the report I'd be getting when he finished his research. And best of all - he wouldn't take any payment until he was done! What? He told me to give him 2 weeks - and within that 2 week period, he reached out to me twice to let me know how things were going and that he was on track with his completion date. The end product was what I thought I was going to get from Elizabeth - a thorough and impressive product. Instead, I received nothing from her. I texted her after I received the appraisal report from the second appraiser, and told her I didn't need to hear from her because I had a completed appraisal from some one else. THEN she replied to me and had the nerve to ask how I could have gone to some one else. Bottom line - I found Elizabeth Dore to be disappointing and unprofessional.

Elizabeth and her husband Mark couldn't have been any nicer. She told me all about the lamps I was buying. Which are now my prized possessions. She took a lot of her time looking at some of the retro pieces I brought into the store as well. I really enjoyed talking with her, as her husband wrapped up my lamps. There is just something so great about her store. One of the best I have ever been to. Quality items and fair prices.

I just now received a call back from ABD after I left many messages and visited numerous times (store always closed) in the last 30+ days. What a pleasant surprise! Then the woman said they did leave voice mails but I never received any. She also stated THEY never received any voice mails. Well, we had different facts, but as I mentioned to her (or tried to), perhaps this was a technical, phone-thing problem. Then she basically berated me (she was not rude or shouting) for writing a negative review today (after I waited patiently for a month), that it was "bad for business." Well, what does one expect? How quickly I received a call back after writing something! Then she said, "I thought you were a Christian..." etc. What????!!! Is a Christian being disingenuous to principle or faith when not happy with a business hence writing a negative review? (my review was not nasty or insulting, just trying to state facts). I was hardly able to get a word in edgewise until she literally hung up on me. I'm sorry this happened, I maintain good contacts and courteous interactions in my profession (my voice mails were always courteous). Now what? Does she NOT expect this review to be written?

I have left about 5 detailed voice mails in the last 4 weeks, leaving my personal contact info. They never call back (as of 3-15-19). I don't have a comment about their services, but a courtesy call apparently is not their priority.

We had the same problem. Elizabeth came out, took lots of notes, said she was going to look up different items and get back to us. That was in October of 2018. Still nothing from her via email, doesn't answer phone calls. Worst $$$ I ever spent. Does anyone know of someone to contact that will really give you appraisals? Thanks
