After reading the negative reviews, I want to state that bullying literally happens at every school. It's inevitable. VVA has been working on building the standards for quality education and providing their students with quality education. the friendships children build at this school have sometimes lasted for several years. The staff genuinely care about the students and work to teach them not only the skills needed for each year, but skills to aide them in their future education. I highly recommend this school.

Dress code is so strict and teacher blame students for not being skinny enough to wear shorts like their friends. The school shouldn't sexualize clothing on children to begin with. I know my friends daughter who goes here and her daughters friend was wearing the same shorts as her but didn't get dress coded and said " Your not skinny enough". Later on her math teacher called her jealous. They also don't allow tight shorts and they give you tight shorts as a replacement for wearing the "tight" short.

Front desk staff Annette either has Alzheimer’s or is racist- not sure which. But if your child isn’t white don’t count in her to remember anything.

Former student here. I spent two years attending and as much as I liked going here and being able to make good friends, I can't give higher than three stars. A girl in my eigth grade class threatened my safety in the ENTIRE CLASS and all that happened was that her parents were called and I stayed home the next day for a mental health break. I still had to deal with her after that. I'm not mad that I still had to do class with her, since there was only one eigth grade class, but I wish a bit more had been done. I don't regret going, but I still think about that incident.

My Daughter was here for 2 years. She was bullied to the point she didn't want to go to school. I brought it to the attention of the teacher, as well as principal Baca, and the Vice principal. Nothing was done. They left me with no choice but to leave. We are in Gilbert public school now and much happier, absolutely 0 tolerance for pushing, yelling, picking, and making kids cry.

Our two daughters go to VVA. We absolutely love this school. Our youngest is in Kindergarten Prep and she loves her teacher Mrs. Smith. Our oldest started last year in Kindergarten with Ms. Risinger and this year with Mrs. Smith in first, both are phenomenal. This is a small intimate environment where the teachers know us by name and our kids whether they are in their class or not. The principle knew both our children’s name on day 1. This school and the members of the staff are incredible. They put our children’s education and experience first. Even during this COVID craziness they put their learning and safety as #1. We moved from California where this experience would have cost an arm and a leg, and we get it here for free with our taxes. We feel very lucky.

I absolutely love Val Vista Academy. This is my sons second year and he is thriving. The communication between teachers and family is open and honest. I get excited talking to other parents about the school, I couldn't imagine a better school for my son to get his education.

@ Mr. Simpson If I were you I would quickly delete your review. You really look silly. Honestly it sounds like a temper tantrum. (for lack of a better word) At no point did you even remotely come close to addressing the quality of your child's education. What you said, would be the same as if I went to one of the best restaurants I can find, ordered an amazing steak, loved it, then throw a temper tantrum because the pictures on the wall are crooked. What do you think would happen? What would happen is......everyone in the restaurant would laugh me right out the front door.Do they have logistical problems? I haven't the first clue....nor do I care to impose my judgement in matters I don't know both sides of the story. If I cared perhaps I go get answers, but until i see my son's education fall under par, I'll continue to trust them. They haven't failed my child yet.Im sorry if I have offended anybody, but its offensive to me to go there every day for 3 months and see these teachers busting their tail for these kids. Trying to change the lives of students in a completely different way then I had. Only to come home at the end of the day and read garbage online, get blasted on facebook posts."When you try to please everybody, you end up pleasing nobody."
