This school is the worst possible school you can put your child in. We left after two month of being there after they suspended my then 6 year old child for pushing someone else back, as he was constantly getting bullied. AND THEY DID NOTHING ABOUT THIS. I could truly go on about what a total nightmare this place is, but just be warned- do not send your child here.

I was so disappointed in this school. Athletics and academics are not strong, especially female sports. My daughter had to get a tutor and step out of the honors tract after receiving a B in honors Algebra 2, but not actually being taught the content. Although you pay more for sports than public schools, you can plan to drive your child to games at 4:00pm for a lack of transportation. Field trips, sports and any activities cost more money but the school is so drained of funds by the administration that they have to do a paper drive every year so teachers can make copies. Then you can pay $250 per child to borrow the required chrome book. Behavior is poorly managed and love and logic is not evident, contrary to marketing. There is a high turnover in staff. If your child has any extra needs (iep or 504) run the other way. Choose somewhere else but this school.

I was excited to send my kids to San Tan and to establish a good school for them after moving so much with military life. To say that I am disappointed is an understatement. When we began schooling there, I brought it all my children's school records showing that one of children is severely behind and needs testing. An entire school year passed with them "evaluating" him. His own teacher told me she was in the office weekly asking for services for him, with no avail. After emailing Mrs Laramie my disappointment in the school, I was told he would begin testing the beginning of the next year. Because our children have moved a lot, we were hoping things would improve. He got his IEP four months into the school year. Being new to IEPs I was unaware what to expect or what would be appropriate but trusted the school had his best interest in mind. I was sadly mistaken. After speaking with specialists and advocates who have reviewed his IEP, it is incomplete and very vague. But worse than that, the few accommodations he has aren't even met. Apparently if your child, in elementary school, doesn't self advocate for their accommodations, the teachers and staff will not worry about them. My son has only fallen further behind while being at San Tan. If you are working parent, don't even worry about paying the ridiculously high sports fees because they do not cover transportation and if you want your kids to attend games, you have to take them which is impossible with normal working hours. The school is ran as a business first and foremost. They charge for everything but cannot afford paper or to provide their staff with the bare minimum so the school supply lists are pages long. San Tan prides themself with a love and logic school, however, their discipline does not align with love and logic concepts. I would strongly encourage anyone interest in San Tan to search other options. There are some really great schools in the East valley and San Tan is not one of them.

PARENTS BEWARE!! DONT DO IT! Unless your child is an absolute perfect angel, this school will treat them as inferior and undeserving of their high and mighty club. Our 3 year old, yes 3 year old, threw a tantrum in her day-care preschool and was dragged to the principals office. On the way of being dragged, she slapped the teachers hand(I would too if I was being dragged). They then disenrolled my daughter from the school. This was the first incident, and we just moved schools and moved HOMES just to send our kids to this school. Kids are creatures of routine, and being a new school, there would be an understandable transition period. NOPE, not allowed at San Tan Charter "school". They then kicked my son, who is VERY well-behaved in 1st grade out of the school too, because we as parents brought up concerns about how our daughter's situation was handled. Then they were very condescending when we asked for reports. Lastly, my daughter was hit in the face by another child over a puzzle. I got no notice or incident report on this. Seems to be a common theme on the google and yelp reviews.Try American Leadership Academy if you don't want disparate treatment or being held hostage to the almighty owners of the San Tan Charter school. I'd give 0 stars if it were an option. Well done folks!

San Tan Montessori has been a nurturing and peaceful place for my children. They have welcomed my children with open arms and worked with them each day to help them grow and learn. The staff is kind, gentle, and flexible. The classrooms are clean and organized. The Montessori education that my children have received has been a true education to life. Each of the classrooms has had perfect materials that are pleasing to the child's eye to use to learn concepts being presented to the child. The San Tan community is a warm, family oriented community that encourages and uplifts the child and meets them where they are in life and learning. I would highly recommend this school and environment for our small little ones.

I have two (soon to be three) children attending STCS and we honestly think it's the best charter school for them. We spent a lot of time looking into what we wanted for them, and this was the best we could find. They have a gifted program and are very adaptive to children's learning style. The few times we have had to discuss incidents and behaviors with the administration, it's always been a great experience. No school is perfect, but I think that STCS is the best for our family.

We are absolutely loving this school for our 9th grader. Each child & parent(s) have an interview with the Principal (or assistant principal) so they know each and every family. The school operates sort of like a family (you hear all the staff say that and I've seen no evidence to the contrary). They are very community oriented and have community vents outside of school regularly. Our son is on the football team & they have been great about welcoming him in & making him feel like he is part of the community from the get-go. Furthermore we are a Love & Logic family so to find a school that practices this & does not use punitive measures for discipline- but rather enforces natural consequences, is a breath of fresh air! There's always place every community can improve but overall we feel like, so far at least, this school has been such a blessing to find!! We have been very methodical about the schools he has attended so this review isn't written with anything but from a place of authenticity & levelheadedness.

Clean, safe, friendly Charter/ Montessori School. Free tuition except for full day Kindergarten. K-8 on campus. Beautiful new building, staff treats you like family, small class sizes, and your choice of Montessori or mainstream education for your children. 100% Recommend.

My kindergartener had a student bring knives and tape to his classroom with the intentions of taping another student up and killing him/her with knives. Luckily, my son was the first to see the knives and tapes and notified the teachers immediately about what was happening, preventing any additional physical and emotional damage to be done. I WAS NEVER MADE AWARE OF WHAT HAPPENED BY THE SCHOOL! After piecing together the story, my then 4 year old, came home with, I immediately contacted the school and was given little to no information, just informed that the students are safe and that the student involved was expelled from the school. Not being satisfied, as my son was then crying everyday begging me not to make him go to school in fear of being stabbed by knives, I met with Mrs. Sipple, the assistant principal. After 2 hours of going rounds with her about what took place, the importance of contacting parents and keeping us informed so that we can have difficult conversations with our kids and start the healing process, she disagreed and stated that it would have cut into her family time (as the incident occurred on a Friday) over the weekend answering unnecessary phone calls and the situations escalating to more than it actually was. I asked if she would be willing to sacrifice a handful of students emotional well being that were involved to save herself possibly 15 unnecessary phone calls from parents of students not directly involved. She answered YES.The police were never contacted about the incident, even though they legally should have as it was a threat with a deadly weapon. When I emailed Mrs. Sipple about the police being involved, she simply did not reply to my email. What else is this school hiding? As far as the staff, amazing. My son had an amazing teacher, assistant teacher, and replacement teacher (after the incident occurred, his original kinder teacher left the school). They are kind, caring, extremely involved, and have a deep love for the students and their job!

If you have zero tolerance for bullying this is not the school for you child. Even when your child repeatedly reports it they won’t help. If you report it they tell you they can’t check things out after the fact even though your child told the teachers. My child had six kids in her class verbally and physically bullying her every day and they told me it was just too much to be true. After me reporting the issues daily to the assistant principal she told me I could no longer email about any issues and then told me that this school probably isn’t the right fit. My child doesn’t want to fight but was forced to do so because they want your child to advocate for themselves. Also she was hurt by bully in gym class while two gym teachers where there but they were both looking at a computer instead of supervising the class. They also told the kids not to cry or complain if you get hurt in gym. Office staff look to be friendly and caring. At recess the teachers are talking to each other and on their phones not watching the kids. The two teachers we had were not apparently able to help a child with Tourette’s, OCD, HDAD. Her teacher taped a kids mouth shut and had them sit facing the class. This is not what second grade kids need to see from the person they are supposed to learn from.

Love everything about this school. Students have their own individual learning plans. Couldn't ask for a better school for my child.
