I called to request information from this particular store in Gilbert since it was suggested by another Petco Store. They had mentioned the store has a Vet Clinic and many more products are available. So I did this and spoke to the rudest representative. She informed me they only had Dewormer for cats and no Dewormer for dogs on their shelf more than once because probably, "I didn't get it!" I ask about online and she/her or it repeated the same robotic statement! So, I ask to be transferred to the Vet line and she gave me instructions to call back in and use the menu! Damn her! I went to the website for this Gilbert store and found affordable Pet Insurance and I am so thrilled about this! I just hope I don't ever have to this clerk help me in the store or I am going to scream out on her! I still love Petco!

Had the nastiest experience today. The girl with the muted purple hair was giving multiple false and borderline dangerous recommendations to different families. I have a large variety of pets (and have had for years) and immediately wanted to speak up. She seemed upset, and even after complimenting her she was giving me the stink eye. She was very uninterested in anything anyone said (including brushing off a small child) as there were 4-5 families in the fish section. The customer service here has already gotten worse and we will not be returning to this location. If I could give zero stars, I would. I hope she gets a stern talking to or loses her job. Don't work at a pet store when you have ZERO knowledge about proper care for animals.

I went to Petco on Warner Rd in Gilbert, AZ today with my Grandson to get fish for his tank. The cashier and the original person assisting us were very polite and helpful. The person assisting us called the store manager because he wasn’t sure if he would be able to sell us the fish we wanted. The manager was extremely rude and my grandson was near tears. She kept telling us she we couldn’t have koi, or sharks, or the pleco we wanted because they would grow too big for the tank. I explained that I have had fish aquariums for the last 50 years and if they grew too big for the tank we would get a bigger tank. She said no, she would not sell us what we wanted. We finally were able to convince her to sell us one fish and a teeny tiny pleco.
As we were paying for our purchases to leave she so nicely gave a fish free to the customer behind us that was a friend of her friend.
I understand she has her responsibilities, however she was extremely rude especially to my grandson.

So refreshing compared to Petsmart. Actually helpful and knowledgeable employees.
Always a great experience.

They turned off the exterior lights an hour early so we questioned if it was open and almost left. Wish we would have. About 30 minutes from close and the manager walks by with a cash drawer and says out loud “I just want to go home”. Then we’re checking out and they turn the lights off inside so we’re left finishing our $100 transaction in the dark. Classy! We will never come back. We got the point.

Do not take your pet here. I went to this location a few weeks back with problems with my dog and they did not do a thing. They didn’t even attempt to. There is no such thing as the first visit being free either. I spent $120 on this first supposedly free visit with no results. They don’t seem knowledgeable and like they are grasping at straws. Do not go here or any Petco. I lost my dog a few days ago and my sister lost her dog after taking him to petco as well.

You called to confirm my appt and I asked you if I really will get this "free visit" and your reply was "yes, I'd need to pay around $6" but when I arrived you told me I needed a "coupon". I followed link on line that offered this free visit but had absolutely no idea I needed this "coupon". No one comunicated this to me prior to appt! You wasted my time and gas. I am laid off and was really appreciating this offer.

I have left several reviews of this location about their price inaccuracies, their disrespectful staff, and their online app saying something is in stock when in fact it’s out of stock in store.
Today I came in for a sponge to reduce the flow of my sponge filter for a disabled betta fish I adopted months ago. The staff was extremely unprofessional while attempting to help me (aka upsell me) the aquatics person was asking about my fish and I explained I was given a completely blind betta fish and she decided to reply with “even if it was your fault I trust you wouldn’t say so.” This is super unprofessional behavior. I hate that they treat you this way while talking about a disabled pet. Mind you the betta is healthy and happy. I’ve spent lots of time and money to ensure he’s happy and we have to take extra precautions due to his disabilities.
I’d like to add that the prices on the shelves are never scanned at the said price. For example the sponge I got was marked as 3.09 on the shelf but was rung up as 4.55 at the register and then additional tax. When I went to check out there were two cashiers and neither of them noticed me and another person in line waiting around for them to finally notice us. Please do better. Please don’t be disrespectful when customers talk about their disabled pets.
Previously we have used their vetco clinic for vaccines and while waiting in a massive line, their ac went out and spent about 45 minutes in line in a very hot building. This petco is poorly managed and I cannot express enough how much I hate coming in this store.

They charge 10 cents for bags, and that money isn't even being used for any "positive change". And they still have the nerve to solicit donations after that 10 cents fee.

Would like to change dog bed. Have exact dollar and sales tax on bank statement, no receipt within 30 days, they won't take exchange for an upgrade in product. I would actually pay more for a better bed than the one my dog hates but don't have receipt.
