August 2020 by Frieda D.
Here we go again. One star is too much. This is an update to my "sad story" about my experience at Banner Physical Therapy in Gilbert. A lady from Select Medical (Banner's partners in crime) asked me to send her an email and I did. She told me by phone that they were working on it, that she had showed my account to her supervisor who said "That doesn't look right." She also said that I would probably receive another bill, which I did dated 7/14/2020, but she told me to "disregard" it, which I did. So two days ago I got a letter, dated August 5,2020, on a Banner Physical Therapy letterhead stating "THIS WILL BE YOUR FINAL NOTICE BEFORE YOUR ACCOUNT IS SENT TO A COLLECTION AGENCY." So let me review. My bills are described only as "Therapy visit" but there was no therapy. There is no mention of what it actually was, two pieces of plastic and a foot of hook and loop tape, which does not stay attached to the plastic. There was no explanation of why these two pieces of of plastic started out at $640, or why my copay, which they collected, was not sufficient or why I owe them $217. They certainly did not tell me that the starting price was $640 before I walked into the room where the two pieces of plastic resided. This is a lousy way to do business, to take advantage of someone just looking for some relief of pain and turning around and saying "Oh, we want more money for those two pieces of plastic." So I will never, ever go to Banner Anything again and will always tell people how they overcharged me for two pieces of plastic that are doing me no good because the hook and loop tape won't stay attached.
