The bread and pastries are top notch and I'm a regular customer. But today, at 7 am, rhe door was unlocked for heavens sake, the guy with no teeth working the counter was not happy to see me. No welcome, no hello, no smile, and when I asked about strawberry scones he said they were being frosted but didn't suggest I might wait a minute... I mean you guys advertised them in instagram, for heavens sake. I felt like he didn't want me there or my business and it was pretty uncomfortable. Bad experience for customer service. The cases were half full, and I wanted to spend a lot more since I was buying for a river trip. I didn't, sadly.

Our visit to Village Baker was a mix of highs and lows. The service was friendly and accommodating, which set a pleasant tone for our experience. However, the overall impression left much to be desired. While the orange scone and cinnamon roll were delightful, unfortunately, the chocolate scone fell short, appearing burned and excessively hard. The French baguette was passable, though nothing extraordinary. One major drawback was the lack of pricing transparency. It's frustrating as a customer not to see prices listed for products, and it can lead to unpleasant surprises at the checkout. For reference, we paid over $20 for four items, which seemed reasonable at first glance. However, upon comparison with similar offerings at other establishments, the value proposition became questionable.Beyond the culinary aspect, the bakery's presentation left something to be desired. Upon entering, there was a distinct lack of warmth or welcome. Improving the ambiance and customer engagement could greatly enhance the overall experience for visitors. In conclusion, while Village Baker has its highlights, there are significant areas for improvement. Addressing issues such as product quality consistency, pricing transparency, and customer engagement would undoubtedly elevate the bakery's reputation and appeal.

My wife and I just recently discovered the Village Bakery and were very thankful. The owner Beth shared much with us about the shops history as well as their plans for expanding their offerings and the recent improvements they've been making to the premises! She and the staff have been pleasant and we've gone back weekly to try different loafs and pastries and they've all been fresh and delicious! Really excited to see what's in store for this long standing excellent local business!

I stopped by for breakfast pastries and to check out their bread: the place didn't disappoint at all! Apple turnover and blueberry scone were freshly baked, fragrant and delicious. I really liked the French loaf too.

This little hole in the wall has some real gems. We tried about 7 different pastries from them. Fresh hot pastries on a cold morning were a nice start. My favorite was their pineapple scone - not too sweet and good texture. Friendly people and helpful - they have a rotating selection of breads as well. Do check it out - a cannot miss location.

Best pain au chocolate I’ve had! Fluffy, buttery and fresh! The smell of the shop is incredible! Too bad didn’t have places to sit. Seems they are under some reorg.

This place is super cute. I like to support local, especially when I'm traveling for work, and this spot looked cool. I'm glad we went in! My only complaint was no coffee but I TOTALLY understand as it is a small shop. This place is super unique and not something you'll find everywhere, you can see straight into their bakery, it's totally open, and really cool to see their production and process. Everyone there was baking and prepping. We even got to see a gut hand kneading loaves which was awesome. They do have a good selection of pastries - I will warn you it's expensive but keep in mind these are all fresh and handmade. Definitely a treat. I brought some to my factory guys and they were all obsessed with them. SO GOOD. I didn't try one that I didn't like. Highly recommend everyone try!

We stopped here on Sunday morning on the way out of town. They didn't have too many offerings because it was Sunday, but they had enough to satisfy us. We ordered a cinnamon roll, a raspberry danish and an apple turnover. All the treats were flaky when they needed to be and moist when they needed to be. Everything we didn't get looked equally as delicious.

Yummy danishes. When you walk in the shop, it smells amazing. Note though that they really don't sell anything except baked goods.

Regarding service, very pleasant and the aroma was delicious BUT read on: I really wanted to like this place because I am committed to supporting local. Unfortunately, I can't give a very good review. We had two pastries that we ultimately couldn't even eat. I currently have sores in my mouth from where the hard pastry cut into my cheeks. One item was a scone, the other was a raspberry danish. The raspberry danish center was okay, a little on the tart side, the cheese wasn't very flavorful and the outer pastry ring was hard. The scone was rock hard. Really could not enjoy it at all. I'm going to try to take a video of pieces of the scone that I'm tapping together percussion style.
