They need more hand baskets. Every time I come in I just need a few things so I don’t need a grocery cart but a hand basket which they never have. I get it, you want me(us) to buy more than needed. Next time I drop something I’m going to spike whatever else is in my hands. Very frustrating. Idk why I even look for the basket when I enter the store. They’re never there.

Apple Pay has not worked for over a year at this location. If you don’t have your debit/credit card on you and you can’t transfer funds from your bank to Apple Cash, then you’re out of luck. HOW CAN ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR STORES IN FLAGSTAFF NOT HAVE FUNCTIONING APPLE PAY FOR SO LONG? Fix it please. Jesus

People always park in the driveway & go spots and go shop inside, so it's really hard to pick up using their online app. Because all the spots are full. Nice employees though.

Busy, busy store! But understandable giving the University nearby. What I don't understand is how the highest priced grocery store (my opinion) is the closest proximity to campus ?? ? Aren't students usually broke and starving?

Came here strongly considering writing this negative review because of a HORRIBLE cashier (Pam) but wasn’t sure if I should because, one, I didn’t want to review a whole store based on one employee that they may not be aware of and, two, perhaps we’ve just take our experiences with her too personally.However, after seeing multiple other reviews of Pam (I’ve never seen a store of any size receive multiple distinctly negative reviews about a single employee), I realized that the store clearly knows and chooses to keep her and that others have the same experiences with her that we do.Pam is off-the-charts rude and we are shocked that she is kept as a representative of Safeway.So far, the stories have only come from my wife and children - what she says to them and how she treats them is unacceptable. My family goes to shop for groceries, not to be insulted and berated by a miserable employee. Each trip seems to be worse than the last.I’m heading to the store now to discuss with management. Safeway, you clearly k ow about this issue based on the multiple comments - why do you make the choice to keep her instead of treat your customers with respect?

Last summer, I don't know what happened, but every starbucks drink and french fry from the deli tasted... like it was contaminated with something that tasted really gross. Witnessed a deli worker being openly racist to a worker that had just started and putting him down. That was awkward. And Safeway, just honestly, too expensive, and people shop there because it's just there. Their hot soups are great, the chicken is not. The lines are always long, and one time when I was outside, I swear to god they shut the wifi off on me while I was eating. The starbucks workers are always great though, and now the drinks are fine. True story. It was a bit strange.

Standard Safeway, nothing out of the ordinary. The one star is because of their cashier Pam, I don’t know what her problem is but she’s so over the top rude. I’ve had multiple issues with her and I see that I’m not alone when reading other reviews. I make a point to be nice to retail workers, I’ve worked long enough in the industry to know that it can be an unpleasant job. Every time I’ve had an issue with Pam, I’ve simply been existing and trying to buy my groceries.Today she spoke to me like I was an absolute moron because I didn’t hear her asking if needed carry out, I thought she asked her for my member number and didn’t respond correctly. You’d of thought I’d spat in her face, her overreaction to me not hearing her properly was comical (by the way… I’m able bodied and was buying a single item, probably a pretty easy question to deduce the answer to). Then their card reader didn’t accept my card the first time, standard hiccup, right? Not to Pam. Cue a similar response to the aforementioned one, complete with a condescending explanation about how card readers work (a simple ‘try that one more time’ would have sufficed). Bizarre and uncalled for.I’m not trying to be mean, but this store needs to do something about her. I wouldn’t make a point to write a one star review if I could tell a worker was just burnt out or having a rough day, but something seriously odd is going on with her. I avoid her because she dampens my day and it sucks when there’s only one checkout open and she’s the one operating it. It’s difficult to use the self checkout with my toddler but I often do so simply to avoid her.

Second time within two weeks I have gone into this stores deli department for 8pcs.fried chicken that has been in the add on sale. At the time there was 4people working one was helping a customer two walked by me at least two to three times never even look at me to at least say we will be with you in a minute. After standing there for about 5min finally a girl that was out front turned around and asked if I needed anything, I said do you have any fried chicken cooking because I would like some. With a real attitude said no won't have any till around 12 at the time once was 9:30 the other was10:30. I thought Safeway used to be all about customer service somebody might what to train this deli department the rest of the store has always showed me some respect sorry to complain but these people are not helping your business.

They charged me $5 to cash my check. Other Safeways usually only charge $2. They used to have a better variety of ready to eat food already heated as well
