Dirt, narrow roads, sharp turns, unmarked road hazards, showers during summertime only.Injured both hands trying to close the bathroom door, big sliver under fingernail, smashed hand between doorknob and door frame closing it, hand trapped, couldn’t get it open again. Lawsuit waiting to happen.Office locked for 2 days although the sign said “open”. Zero cell service, ATT. Sign on door said “text for help, xxx-xxx-xxxx. Had to ??Nice wooded area. If you have a small vehicle and low expectations of facility quality, it’s a good place to camp. $15 March of 2004

Howard is a delightful kind, soft spoken Native American. This site is ver close to all of the views of the canyons. Beautiful! We only stayed for one night. Nothing fancy but convenient and safe.Nearby activities: Close to the canyon.

At the top of South Rim of Canyon de Chelly. Very remote and wonderfully quiet. Dark night skies for star viewing.

There are no RV parks with hook ups in the area. As I started checking the ones available this one stood out, because of the distance between sites & remote location. After arriving I walked around choosing our site. Some spots would not fit a 30+ft fifth wheel, but the one I did pick was perfect. We were the only one in the campground.Oct is a perfect time to visit. The owner came by later in the afternoon to check on us to see if we needed anything & collect payment. The night skies were amazing, you could see the Milky Way, because there is no light pollution. We were there 3 nights & couldn’t believe how quite it was. Only saw 2 others in the whole camp. All sites are dirt, but fairly level. Owner hand built the campground with his uncle. He was a wealth of information about area.No hook ups, but there was an old porta potty (we did not use) RV has it’s own. This is a no frills campground, bring what you need—-take out what you brought. Generators are allowed, but please be respectful on quite times. Picnic tables & hand built rock fire rings were available.Dogs are allowed on leash, not a good idea to let them off, because there are wild animals in the area (didn’t see any).Bring all your own food & camping items, because nothing is available on site. There are sites that I saw that would be tent only. We were very happy with price for the spot we got.Bring wood or buy from owner $7 a bundle, both are allowed. Safe fires were allowed.Highly recommend you give this place a try.$15 dollars a night for RVsNo credit cards allowed, so bring cash. Right amount would be best.

15$/night, only campground within miles, no water or electricity. Had picnic table and fire pit, nice area close to canyon. It was nice. Good stop if you're passing through and need to stop. There's wild dogs.
