My wife and I have been with Alex Marek at Ironwood for over 15 years. We came to Alex after he came with a very high recommendation from a relative about him. After meeting and talking to Alex for about an hour, we realized that he was the perfect financial planner for us. Alex and his associates have provided us with expert guidance in every aspect of our financial needs from planning, to tax preparation, to recouping losses from unfortunate financial choices made prior to our affiliation with Alex. As we were nearing retirement, we had some specific travel requirements. Alex made certain that our investments would give us the results we needed, and after 12 years of retirement, it has been exactly that. One the best reviews we can give is that both of our daughters, and their families, are with Alex and Ironwood. Ironwood is a company we value, and Alex Marek is a man we truly trust to manage our investments. All of his advice is preceded by thorough and thoughtful explanations. He answers questions we didn't even know we should ask! He is very proactive in the management of our finances. He is simply the BEST. In short, we cannot imagine our financial future without Alex Marek and Ironwood in it!

My wife and I have been clients of Ironwood since 2007. Cean, Alex, and Ryder do a a fantastic job and I would recommend them with the highest regard. They are honest, intelligent and follow our risk tolerance at all times.

My CPA J.T. who'd been doing my taxes for years joined Ironwood, then after one year left and I was transferred to a new CPA, D.A. at Ironwood. He did my taxes for 2 yrs, both years I have had to have extensions because of some tax form called a K1 that never comes out until several months after April 15th and thus extensions are required. Unfortunately, I didn't remember that you still have to pay the IRS in April what you think you'll owe. I wasn't told what or when to pay this year (because I pay someone to tell me this) and was surprised to get a $500 penalty from the IRS because I didn't pay until Oct when the extended filing was due. When I emailed D.A. about this, my email bounced back that he no longer worked there (no notice he was leaving, which at least I'd gotten when J.T. left). I then immediately received a docusign form to sign that I was being dismissed as a client because I'm not "one of their wealth management clients". When I emailed about this issue with the penalty, I was told by Cean that I was not a client prior to October, so he clearly did not research my case at all. I wrote back that I'd been a client for years and forwarded him emails from Doug. Several weeks have gone by and I still have not heard from them other than them trying to send me a registered letter with the form that they are eliminating me as a client. I know customer service is not what it was before covid, but I find this extremely poor treatment of a client and I encourage you to look elsewhere for someone to manage your wealth (which, they never even courted me for and I'm a physician). The only reason I didn't go with one star is because my extension and taxes did get filed on time. Also, I had no negative interactions with them prior to this, so it wasn't like they were needing to get rid of a "Karen".

I have nothing but good things to say about Cean and the team at Ironwood. I have been working with them for years and have referred multiple friends to them that are also now clients. They are responsive when I have questions and are great at keeping me updated with my portfolio and long term plan. There is no way to predict the market with 100% certainty but they built us a plan that made us feel comfortable during the ups and downs.
